Even though I'm just basing this off what one friend who attended the VIP opening said and rkitek's few photos, FAILE knocked this show out of the park!
Retrospective displayed perfectly to showcase their history, prices & pieces for every level ($650 for small unique originals - whoa!), huge-sized editions of 50 priced well, and a great mixture of new & old imagery.
Can folks please post a bunch of photos after tonight's opening?
I know the large dog piece was an original on paper and it cost $14,000 and I'm pretty sure that the smaller piece was an original (or, at least a heavily worked over print) and that cost $2200 I believe.
Thanks how small is small? Is there a price list somewhere?
the faile dog silent was an original 20in x 23.75in $2200
They are not answering the phone. I called loads throughout the day (from 11 am local time) and nothing. Stayed up till 3am to see if you have to call during the show. That is pants!!
Stunning work, stunning show! Laz, please bring this to the ül!

Just got back from the show ... a little after midnight in CA ... really great show, a lot better than what I expected. One of the folks said it was one of the many to come.
Great people from the forum where present, and yes, sadly, most work was sold during the V.I.P. party, including some of the more sought after book covers. Will try to post some pictures tomorrow.
just got home from the show, AMAZING!!! even though i was 20th in line outside, the "adds" print sold out prior to making it to the ladies taking orders, however picked up 2nd to last "worth something gold"... a lot of jumping and individuals being let in prior to the start of show. should have been handled a bit better.
side note, spoke to one of the patricks, really cool dude. anyway, mentioned they are taking some time off until their next show in london (november), followed by another larger show in the city of angels next year...

Finally back from Venice Beach after a few cocktails... The show, as jperez waxed, was pretty much amazing. GREAT space for a shop/gallery, good vibes, good tunes, great people, nice prices, cheap beers... and a beautiful retrospective of the FAILE catalog on a variety of mediums. Gotta give the nod to 'Something Worth (Gold)' for the show prints, though 'Los Angeles' is classic FAILE as well... and the $10 pasters were pretty damn sweet ;D
One thing... they need to work on the jumpers as a lot of peeps who spent more than a few hours in line got screwed due to the s**t organization on the part of the gallery and ended up with nothing. Like jperez said, those of us 15-20 deep outside, who spent a few hours in line, barely scored, which doesn't seem kosher for 2 editions of 50. They opened the doors and it was an 'Amsterdam' line... the line from outside pushed into a mass and a lot of 'lil sneaky phuckers who literally showed up when they opened the doors weaseled a print. I'm looking at you, Mrs. 'my Make a Wish Foundation kid wants a FAILE' and the rest of the punks who screwed over some serious fans
What an incredible show! It's pretty breath taking to see all the Faile history in one place it really makes me enjoy the Faile prints I have! Execution on failes part was lovely.
It was also a pleasure to finally meet some forum members and put faces to names! I tired to help as many of you guys out but the queue jumpers at the front of the line just kept coming.
I would like to comment on how s**tty the gallery handled sales and release of the print. I waited 2.5 hours in a line of 5-8 only to have about 10-15 queue jumpers show up at 630 and steal my opportunity to get a sexy adds. I was able to score a worth something but would be willing to trade for some cooler or sexy ads.
Anything worth buying was already sold the minute you walked in all the good book covers the 2200$ Faile dog og. I was pretty Gutted as I drove 9 frickin hours only to not be VIP. That's s**t! I left 3 emails and called countless times to try to get info. Nothing

I tried phoning every half hour yesterday. And sent 3 emails and nothing. Also had a forum member who was kind enough to go and try and get a print for me and nothing. Wonder when the first ones will hit the bay? Loser queue jumpers...
What an amazing time last night was! Really enjoyed the space, the people, and the music. Faile definitely knocked the ball out of the park, and what a great opportunity for the fans to get a chance at some really iconic prints and images. Meeting a few other forum members was also nice
I was lucky enough to get a couple book covers and really enjoyed the vibe last night! It was one of my top openings to date and one to remember!
