+1 i had to grab this even with the throat gulping price - i personally really like the image because its different. this for sure is going to look the shiz framed. You'll have to do another 'throat gulp' again when you come to frame this monster.... It's HUGE. & @ 120cmx90cm it's too big for an A0 portfolio. As a result I predict that loads of these will remain in tubes for far too long, and most will never get framed and just sold on and on and on and on.. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I do quite like it though.

I don't like the image and I don't like the block style as a print. I love the originals but the prints don't work for me. The block style looked rather amazing in flesh on the last release though...well, my opinion. This image doesn't do it for me. The last release took a few days to sell out but I thought the block printing was really cool, especially Launch Tonight and Brighton Beach. If anyone's got the latter to sell (UK) please PM me.

Dan, the only thing you can say is that there is no accounting for taste.
Re: Monkey print. I bought it, it is large and a complex print to make. I believe based on previous experience that a large complex print by a great artist (s) will often be a solid investment.
Not to mention I love big prints... I turned down a 20 cm square original C215 minutes (by Chris) before I chose to buy this print.

Your right, and thats kinda my point. Theres alot of high quality work that doesnt sell out as much due to hype and publicity. MBW stuff is all hype.

Priced to market. It's the way to go. You will have time to think about the piece. And Buy only if u love it enough pay for it. Not hype. Not drip drop. Not blind bunfight. Not phantom lottery. Pow should do this with his popular artists like Banksy. it's fair and honest.

There is tonnes of faile out there that is priced so low that im sure is still release. I don't like any of them so that's why I didn't buy. I'm Confused on how there are lots of strange colour and mixed prints that are very low editions.

This is still available because it is the worst image they could have picked from the PRG show. Why couldn't they see this?

i don't think its a terrible image or too expensive as i'm sure they're good value in terms of size/printing spec/the artist, I just think that due to the non-female image, physical size and the price, they aren't prints to buy just for collectings sake and keep in a tube (or flipping), people who are going to get them on the wall straight away are snapping them up, everyone else is having a think about it.
I'm glad that Faile aren't just sticking to the images of females, it would be very easy to do that and i'm sure they would get on walls quicker and flip easier. This print is more like Scuba Horse, not everyones cuppa but still a very cool and quintessentially Faile image.
Personally I would have pulled the trigger if it was 75% physical size and 75% cheaper! It would be my first Faile, I can squeeze in a few medium size ones, a massive one would have to go up at the expense of something else. Maybe if there were some killer Faile type on there it would tick more boxes for me, as it stands i'm still looking for the Faile that completes me!

It was, when Chris said he would have something to sell me, I was psyched but when I found out it was 7 inches square and didn't have the C215 square on the front. I had to turn him down. So I went from miniscule but awesome to massive and not quite 100%. I hope when I see it in person I will appreciate it better.

Pow should do this with his popular artists like Banksy. it's fair and honest. Absolutely agree with your post. Way to go. All others artists outside the street art are doing it and obviously most of the time they won't sell out immediately. At the end of the day it doesn't matter, does it (only matters to those looking for the super quick flip). i don't think its a terrible image or too expensive as i'm sure they're good value in terms of size/printing spec/the artist, I just think that due to the non-female image, physical size and the price, they aren't prints to buy just for collectings sake and keep in a tube (or flipping), people who are going to get them on the wall straight away are snapping them up, everyone else is having a think about it. This print is more like Scuba Horse, not everyones cuppa but still a very cool and quintessentially Faile image. Agree with this as well. I think it is a great image and shouts Faile from a distance. Combination of new and old style. Old - Image of the Fashion Chimp was first used like a 11 years ago but never used as an image for the print. New - the way of de-constructing the image and using the wooden block effect on the screen print. Sure it is not for everyone. I love it because I see it as something absurd and hilarious and yet beautiful

Positives: Faile, not sold by Daniel Lah0da (never forget), beautiful print job
Negative: cost of framing, price, size, image choice
I wonder how many prints are left. Half? More? No way that this can't be seen as a pretty big overreach on the part of Faile and Paper Monster. The delays allowed several emails to go out to their mailing lists publicizing the release and it is still on sale 24 hours later. Easy pass for most of us despite the Faile name and their prior work.
