I won't be able to attend on the opening evening as I'll be on my way to South of France where I'm getting married on June 10-11 so an invitation card as a wedding present would be greatly appreciated ;-) Please PM me, happy to cover p&p...

Guys, quick question - are these things any good to bring a date along to, or do they get too packed out, making it difficult to move around and/or get a drink... met this Swedish art student last night and am thinking she could be my +1

I went to the last Banksy show they put on and it was heaving was soo busy, ended up getting a few drinks walking around then leaving to find a pub, could not see the art properly as there was too many people in the way. good all the same though.
It something different to do with a girl so might as well, being an art student though she might prefer the classics to the graffiti art

I will be going to this as fairly new to the whole street art scene, obviously aware of Banksys stuff but not so much of War Boutique. Have been looking today at the stuff and just wanted to ask a question...how many prints have War Boutique released?!
I can find You Shop We Drop, Red Mist and Clockwork. I know the last one was sold through PoW and is sold out, was just wondering where he released these prints and if anymore were made.
Thanks in advance as want to kind of know my stuff on Wednesday!

Message from Andipa.
We reached our maximum capacity for the guest list even before receiving your confirmation and so have accepted RSVP's on a first-come-first-served basis. We acknowledge the importance of you attending the exhibition and are therefore hosting an additional special Private View on Thursday 9th June from 6-9pm to make this possible.

I'm heading down on Thursday too. Far too slow on the draw, but quite glad as already have Opie and Retna on Wednesday.

"Due to the overwhelming demand to preview the exhibition we reached our legal capacity (fire regs) within a couple of hours and so are hosting a 2nd Preview Night on Thursday 9th June – but again, this is only for guests who have been invited and RSVP'd and already on our list.
Unfortunately, if someone's name is not on the guest list they cannot be admitted. Anyone who has RSVP'd already from our mailing list that cannot be accommodated on the Wednesday preview has been contacted via email to re-allocate them to the Thursday event. Again, the invitations are not transferrable.
Really sorry to all your forum members who have not officially received a gallery invite if they are not on our mailing list but it would be both unsafe and uncomfortable for all if we crush guests into the gallery – no-one would have the opportunity to view the artwork which is what it's all about."
"For the sake of fairness, the 2 x War Boutique print releases will be equally divided between Wednesday and Thursday, and available on a first-come, first-served basis from 6pm on both days.
All our welcome to view the exhibition during our normal gallery hours from Thursday 9th: Mon-Fri (9.30am – 6pm) and Saturdays (11am – 6pm). Of course, free entry and no need to book."

yes, i'll post in the morning.
want to just put on record [as a big supporter and lover of mr B's work] tho that pretty much every Banksy canvas that Andipa own is seriously poor. The image quality and execution are terrible, and the £35k - £150k price tags are ridiculous. give me a BME / WSM / LiiTA print anyday. Pie face does look awesome, but £250k....?
Also, i finally had my say re the terribly poorly presented (horizontal rather than diagonal) GWB diptych. Caused a minor ruckus amongst the work experience staff when i explained it was framed wrongly, but after pointing out the balloon string was below the height of the girls hand they reluctantly agreed and muttered about telling the boss.
War boutique...ok. Loved the PS3 but the bullet proof jackets (with various 'customisation' - school ties etc) were pretty ordinary, and not really for an art collector. No idea what the postman pat print has to do with either the rest of the exhibition or the 'war boutique' moniker tho. Would sell well at a trade union congress (tho it is £350 so maybe not). Also a wierd lichenstein rip off didn't really fit either.
All in all pretty disappointing. Was quiet as well - the 'guestlist full' was all hype. No show cards or catalogue on sale - all they were flogging were signed WB patches (hmmm) and OLD banksy show catalogues.
If you live close by, go for the free booze tomorrow. if not, well, swing by if you are in the area, but don't sweat.

Banksy must cringe at some of the pieces showing there, some really weak work, with some really heavy price tags.

I have to say I totally agree with Gooooglemale, big disappointment, it was pretty much all the Banksy images that we have all seen before from Andipa, couldn't even put together a more recent catalogue, the one they were passing off for that evenings was from 2009 and they were charging £15. It really felt as though they were using Banksy's name to promote the War Boutique stuff, as we all know it will draw a bigger crowd.
The WB pieces were ok, nothing you really wanted to put your hand in your pocket for........all felt a bit Emperors new clothes!! :)
If your are n the area drop in, if you are traveling don't bother...

Probably in the minority in saying i love the early crude/rough pieces, sure they don't represent his work today, more a period in time and an important one at that.
RE:Pricing far from sticking up for the gallery, but i think they may have paid big money for a lot of stuff and that's before taking into account the location. Also remember the target market of that gallery
