Tracey Emin celebrates the launch of Walking Around My World, an exclusive collaboration with Selfridges, with a special appearance at the London store on Tuesday, 21 June.
Tracey Emin will be signing copies of her book, ‘My Life In A Column’ and other monographs to launch a unique collaboration with Selfridges which reveals her personal tastes.
Where: Selfridges London, Concept Store in the Wonder Room
When: Tuesday 21 June – 6pm-7pm
Tracey will take over the 140sqm space of the Concept Store, a location dedicated to installations and temporary themed concept shops within Selfridges’ Wonder Room, and fill it with a surprising mix of her favourite items from the London store. These will be organised across the space in clusters and are meant to give a new insight into Tracey’s lifestyle and tastes.
Some of the products on sale from Emin International have been created exclusively for this unique Selfridges commission. Among the exclusive items will be a limited edition print of an iconic Tracey Emin image based on the monoprint Walking Around My World (1998). Only 300 prints are available, priced at £275. In a new departure, Tracey in collaboration with Thomas Goode fine bone china, has created an exclusive edition of 100 Picasso-inspired plates, using a never-before-seen drawing. More items launched for the first time include a china bowl featuring Docket the cat, priced at £30.
Walking Around My World will include a book selection by Tracey that will feature the artist’s monographs and the newly published ‘My Life In A Column’, a collection of the weekly diary columns she has written for The Independent.
Tracey has been given carte blanche by Selfridges to fill five of the store’s largest windows surrounding the Concept Store. In the largest of all Selfridges’ twenty-seven windows, Window 20 – at the corner of Duke Street and Oxford Street – will stand a giant photograph of Tracey and a new neon artwork.
This will be a nod to the artist’s current blockbuster exhibition at the Hayward Gallery, her first ever major retrospective in London which runs until 29 August 2011. The book from the Hayward Gallery exhibition will be sold as part of the book collection assembled for Walking Around My World.

Daniel Silk: In my opinion, Imbue, Ryca and Mobstr would be artists producing the freshest art in the past couple of years. Who would be your top 3?

paulagibbs: From someone who used to build websites, this site is not easy to navigate, and all those flashing ads at the top are annoying and rather low-end looking. I am guessing the only people who are going to visit are artists trying to sell their art.

pgm: hey guys, quick question: I have a For Sale thread posted on June 26. Since then I updated the post with new and sold pieces and commented to bump it. But it is now stuck on page 11 of the Art for Sale thread (and noone sees it). Is "bumping turned off" somehow?
