Hi As a subscriber, you are receiving the exclusive chance to pre-order and view this product now via the following secret link before the official product release on June 24, 2010: (I've removed the pre-order link) ----------------------------------- ‘Save the Youth’ Screen Print Since 2003, Sickboy’s ‘Save the Youth’ slogan has been synonymous with the artist’s exterior activities. Now, for the first time, the artist has taken it off the wall and put it onto paper as an A1-sized hand-pulled screen print. The artwork came from a one-time hit on a glass window, and is produced in black and silver. The one-colour print (£85) is available as an edition of 50, and there is a hand-finished special (£150) in an edition of five, which features mix media hand-finishing. The prints were produced using the best quality ink on 280gsm Somerset Antique black velvet paper with one deckled edge. They are signed, numbered and embossed with a temple logo. ------------------------------------ I'm a big sickboy fan, but this one isn't for me. Surely it would have been better (and easier) for Sickboy to tag them himself rather than make it into a print??!

I'm with you there Sand If its an addition of 55 (in total) it would have been alot quicker and the pieces would have been alot more apealing if they were all tagged!...
Otherwise it just feels like the same stuff Sickboy has shown plenty times before! For the money, i'd rather pay an extra couple of quid and get one of his more detailed pieces...

'Now, for the first time, the artist has taken it off the wall and put it onto paper as an A1-sized hand-pulled screen printhmmm .. I am sure I have seen this slogan in other work he has done. (but maybe not A1 size I suppose) One deckled edge - what is that all about?!? On the other hand, I think these may look really good in real life - not sure the blackness and contrast comes across in the photos. Agree - a hand tagged issue would have hit the mark

dappy - 1 deckled edge will be because they're printing a few up on bigger sheets then cutting down with a guillotine. Would be better if the 3 clean edges were "hand deckled" afterwards I reckon

Not mad on this. Prefer those Zapatism prints he did.

Cheers twist - that is what I thought ... clean cut and no deckled edge, all deckled edge or even 2 deckled edges either way opposite eachother I understand; but one deckled edge, to me, sounds a bit odd and poor imo, & Brushstrokes thread on artists being lazy on printing

Found a pic of one of the other hand finished APs (hand finished are showing up as sold out now on the subscribers secret link) online and some info about Sickboy's 2011 show. -------------------------- The artist says: “It’s a good opportunity to spread the message and save some ink. It came from a one-time hit on a glass window, and is now freeze-framed on paper — and safe from cleaning solvents.” The print is released ahead of Sickboy’s forthcoming major London solo show, Heaven & Earth this September, which features collaborations with Eine, D*Face, Insect and many more. www.posterdistrict.com/archives/2226------------------------------- Looking forward to the show! ;D
