Why would you try to squeeze 10K when you have an offer of 240K on the table done by a dealer who plays it very fairly opening up telling you he pre-sold the piece and he's looking for some profit too (obviously !)... Such a bade move from these 2 guys ! I was screaming TAKE IT in front of my TV ;-)

Maybe it was never their intention to sell it on the show, maybe they were using the show to publicise to anyone / all who may be interested that they have it and more besides.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bankrobber, didn't put them up to this

Just what I was thinking The TV show gets a great story and media coverage, and the lads get the piece valued at £240,000 on TV in front of millions, a win win for everyone!

You could argue that the other offers are logically closest to its real value

good grief!!!! it was riveting reading through this thread!! worst than a soap opera!! WHAT HAPPENED in the end????????? Do tell!!! In short...they were offered £240,000 and the dealer asked if they'd like to squeeze him (kinky) so they tried to squeeze him for an extra £10,000 and with that the dealer pulled out, therefore no deal! Those guys got greedy and shudda quit while they were ahead!

let me say again...the trailer on TV is an EDIT, designed to hook your interest. the only thing we know with confidence is that the banksy walls DOES NOT sell for £240k. not saying it isn't more, less or not at all. but not £240k! gm looks like someone made a cock up with the advert nope....spot on! Item didn't sell for £240k (the only thing I said was guaranteed) but the trails probably added 100,000 viewers.

Sorry, the rest of the original comment was stating a advertiser would never be able to give a part of the show away and that 240 must relate to another item. Im not trying to prove you wrong, just saying someone obviously made a mistake and not just the fools with the wall

Absolute fools, they will be stuck with that for some time to come, or sell at far less, couldn't believe they turned that offer down!
The piece is in stuning condition though, one of the best walls out there for sale.

I need to find something quirky to sell so I can go on that program! Purely so I can chat up the female dealer, she is very hot!
But honestly, turning down £240k, it was a picture when the dealer turned round and totally withdrew his offer! They weren’t expecting that one! Doh

Queued next to these all night for the release of No Ball games saw all the photos on Nicks phone of the wall being removed and restored. He also has some nice original canvases too! I remember them telling me they were originally looking for 350k.

I don't know how you would go about restoring a piece like that one but how much of the original Banksy paint was actually left? 80%?

I like how they told everyone that they were collectors not dealers, they then went on to say they wouldn't sell it unless they made enough to start their own gallery..... The 240k offer must have been fake, or those guys are real muppets, as by now they must have exhausted every avenue for a sale..... Don't believe the pre-sale nonsense either, surely a collector willing to pay up to 300k for a piece is knowledgable enough to know about this piece already..... Thinking about it for 300k Banksy would probably come round and paint your own wall...... To this day i'm still trying to work out how cutting up a wall costs 30 grand....

I cant decide what the dealer meant when he said "do you want to squeeze me". Im not sure he was saying do you want to try and get me to increase my offer, as he already said it was fiinal. I think he was challenging them to squeeze to see if they were that greedy. When they did, he shut them straight down.
He might have had it sold for 260k but wasnt going to give them 220k profit to earn himself 20k (10k even). Hes already minted after all.

I hope the wall crumbled to pieces as they transported it back to the hole they came from

Interesting to read some of the comments on here. The dealers are all wealthy people who make a living buying and selling items. They have time to research each item before its put in front of them and you would imagine part of this research would be who on their client list would be interested in such a piece. Just because one of them knows someone who would have bought the wall for 260kish doesn't mean they all do. If they had taken the 240k, and they were off their tits not to, the dealer would have had to pay unless the stated provedence wasn't in order (not applicable in this case) otherwise the premise of the show falls apart. I agree with a few of the peeps on here, they probably bought the hangmans rope after the show and are now gently swinging in the breeze somewhere. Muppets.
