Does anyone here like Tracey Emin or David Shrigley?
Let me know if you know anywhere I can find unique works by them, or drawings, online? Is Shrigley mega expensive now?

There were a couple of very small Emins for sale at the Grosvenor House Art & Antiques yesterday. I thought pretty expensive though at about £3.5k. Can't remember the name of the gallery, left the catalogue at work, although the gallery represented English/British artists only. Will try and remember to look up details tomorrow.

white cube and counter editions have Emin editions. The mummified rock on counter is just plain odd.

I have Kate Moss by Tracey Emin, and whilst I know she may not be that popular here, I love it - it's simplicity is beautiful. Single line sketching can be hugely effective. (would prefer a Banksy Kate Moss of course!) Love Shrigley - his Guardian cartoons fantastic, as is his book, The Book of Shrigley. I also like I Like Drawing, and have his Kids Crossing print framed and up in the loo. It's quality imo. c

As a big fan, I'd be really interested to know what kind of prices Shrigley's stuff goes for... have looked before but found little information on the web...

sorry guys, was out last nite
yeah, i met him at a book signing for ants have sex in your beer, and had a wee chat, and the topic of POW came up, so i asked him how that came about, and basically he was saying how he was sitting about, and his phone went and (shrigley puts on a bad english accent) 'hey mate its banksy yeah yeah yeah, i want u to do a screenprint for me'
he said he had no idea how banksy got his number, and seemed to suggest that banksy was in charge of POW, so he sent down 3 drawings, and he's never seen the finished piece, or had 1 sent to him - hence why they are unlimited and u/s
but because he's from glasgow, i've been able to see his stuff quite a lot, and he is proper funny and a top artist

Oh yeah I meant the unique print, from Parkett, taken from a poloroid of herself. I like that one. The others are great but I'm not so into those... I like the Frida one. I used to have lot of them actually but sold them to get a unique work instead.

Shrigley- yes ;D, Emin- no I share your opinion mate. I vehemently dislike all of Tracey Emin's work that I've seen so far. In some cases I would be able to strongly respect that emotive response in myself as an effectiveness of the art, but sadly in this case I find myself totally bemused as to how she's so respected and accepted an artist. I think she's the most over-rated talent out there. I would buy Zbiok over TE - that's how poor I think much of her work is!!! Clearly people much more educated in art disagree, so I guess I'm missing the appeal or "quality" of her work. Oh well!
