Hi everyone. I was just wondering if anyone here has had any past experiences with Amuti23. They are a book shop/mini gallery in London. Ive purchased something from their site...theyve taken my money...but then thats it. Ive had no communication from them despite me emailing them SEVERAL times . Ive tracked down a phone number for them but it doesnt connect.... Needless to say ive not received my item yet and am getting worried ive been scammed... Has anyone got any advice on how i should proceed? Has anyone had good experiences or bad experiences in the past? Is anyone in the same boat as me? Im thinking of popping around there in person and trying to speak to someone directly... Any help is much appreciated  |

that didnt take long....
a few people here had issues with them, one guy paid for a signed banksy a then the gallery went awol
type Amuti 23 in the search function up top, you should find the thread

Before the sale I only had good experiences with Amuti but I bought a signed Banksy in their sale which they didnt send (despite emails saying they would)......I ended up having to make a complaint though Paypal to get my money back. Not sure if this was due to the move or not but I would be very careful about buying from them in the future!

I had a damaged item..took many mails, but eventually they did get back and i got a refund...keep on trying

Closing down our Cecil Court showroom took much more time and energy than we expected and a prolonged server issue meant some emails and orders went completely missing. babydave - I have dealt with Amuti and Laurence laods of times and everytime there has been some sort of problem which is eventually sorted out. Bumbling and slow would be the best way to describe him. Dishonest - definitely not.

I've finally got through on the phone....I've been told my item will be shipped out tomorrow and I'll receive an email in the evening with the tracking number.....
He was apologetic but for some reason I'm still worries about my order.......

Fragile.... he initially said that alot of the orders had been mixed up.... he then told me that my payment hadnt cleared despite it def being cleared. He apologised and said there was an error on his part. I mentioned that ive been emailing him constantly etc but he glossed over this.
Hows yours going?

I too am still waiting for an item bought in the Amuti sale prior to Christmas.
I've been giving Amuti the benefit of the doubt up until now, though this thread doesn't make for great reading.

Update on my dilemma.....Laurence just called me....he said he couldn't post my item today but would so it tomorrow.
This is starting to sound like the stories from other people.......
Again, I'm not hopeful....

The main problem I have with them (other than still not receiving the item I paid for 3 weeks ago) is that their story for non delivery changes every week. They are complete bulls**tters.
