Live art day at Cargo, by HowAboutNo on Aug 8, 2006 11:28:57 GMT 1, On Friday 18.08 Cargo have invited over the "legendary" German photo-realist graffiti artist "Tasso" to fill in the walls in between the Banksy's at either end of the courtyard. When I was down there last week they said he should be covering at least two sections of the wall, possibly three depending on how it goes on the day.
Good to see that they are doing this again, cos since the re-fit it sort of just stood still for a while. Always good to walk there on a fortnightly basis and get pics of pristine fresh pieces.
All very "Chuck Close", will be interesting to see how he does it and how long they take. No doubt I will report back if I manage to venture down there. Says its an all day event, following through till the evening with Globo Loco - "Have you ever seen a Cargo crowd join hands in euphoric unanimity? Well here's your chance. Balkan Breaks & Eastern European madness, unabashed and hedonistic - downing vodka through the eye socket is de rigeur.
Went there Friday just gone, and it's a quality venue inside, lots of different style seating and good acoustics for the live acts they have there. Marvin the Martian kicked tailpipe too!!
