is the paper actually crinkled? Or are they printed to appear that way on flat paper?

they (studiocrombie) just jacked up their price on the JR Self Portrait from 300 euros to 400 euros That was overdue and the right move to make! Incredible, that this is still available, but now it is nice to know that the early buyers were somewhat "rewarded" for buying before TED and all the other high profile stuff. Stll an amazing print at a great price!

What's the size ?? Well spotted Joevalentino ! At least, the other one is still at 250 euros ! Seriously I thought Self-Protrait were all sold out... Well, sending another email to the framer who f**ked up mine (second and last try) before they are sold out. JR in color, agree, that's strange !!

Great, been trying to get the money together for that for a while now. Is this to justify the new edition price structure ? either way thats bad form from both artist and gallery imo

That was overdue and the right move to make! how and why ? I would rather see the money in the pockets of the gallery and the artist than of the flippers. Not liking this in general, but in this case, I think it's the right thing to do. (And should you get the money together this month, I am sure, Angelo would be cool about giving you the old price - just my guess of course)

Sorry, thats no excuse imo. Im presuming you already make your 40%, so its not like you are missing out. Its not the customers fault idiots cant be bothered to Google and buy them direct, so I dont see why we should pay for it. If these were planned to rise as they sold out I wouldn't care, but it just looks like greed to me

In Angelo's defense, it is not him raising prices but the artist and his team putting pressure on all galleries to move prices north (from what I understand). I actually disagree with JR's view on pricing and although I appreciate that he is doing it to fund his projects, I think the tactics of forcing prices up rather than letting supply and demand do its thing is a very bad, and potentially dangerous game. I just think that if they had priced the recent releases a little bit more realistically, and at a potentially smaller edition (re. the Social Animal prints), then they would have had more sales, more money and a few sold out print editions, which helps drive demand going forward. As it is all the Social Animal releases remain available (in fact most JR prints remain available), and will do for a long time. Just my twopence...
