£7800 seems fair to me. I don't know why anyone would have considered selling this for less than an a CYW anyway.

Agreed. Its one of my favourite Banksy's but if this really represents it's current value then the cheapest signed Banksy is coming in at £5/6k. Thats just ridiculous. I would say that I think his prices are on the up and may not return to the lows of last year.

Yes the each color of CYW is edition of 25 x 17 colors = 425 + 58 + 100 = 583 Total CYW images out there -vs- 299 total VLH images out there.

I have always felt this is one of the most underrated Banksy prints out there. If the Tesco flag was a McDonalds flag or Walmart flag the American buyers would have driven the price through the roof.

To disclose an interest. I have one of these. Probably my favourite banksy I own, although I also love stop and search.
But £7k plus is crazy stuff, even though it is a lovely print.

i think most of banksys future releases will have a play on american culture and once that market latches on then the sky is the limit price wise.
not knocking the VLH its one of my favorites too.

Since when has an auction been a good guide for pricing prints?!! Populated by those with more money than sense!!! A VLH traded between forum members should go for about £3k at the moment. I should know as I bought one this week. Fair price to both buyer and seller. Anyone who is just in this to make money should head to Auction! Simples....

just cause one un informed idiot decided to pay 7.8k at auction for one does not mean anyone else will.. put it up on ebay for 7k and see if you get any offers at all :/ I completely disagree with this - It's not like the buyer automatically jumped in at 7.8k - they would have been bidding against a number of "uninformed idiots" all willing to pay top $$. As for whether an auction provides a true price - well its every bit as valid and true as an ebay sale, or a sale between a forum member. you cant discount a sale price just because of the medium it was sold by. if a vlh goes for 7.8k at auction, id be v interested to see what a cyw goes for...

Seem to remember someone paid a lot for a sepia morons a while back at auction. Prices soon leveled when no one else paid anywhere near. I do like VLH but with my soup can it makes me look like I'm obsessed with Tesco

Those that are in it for the money may not have too long to wait Dreweats auction on 6th April should give a good indication if this was just a BLIP especially for the NOLA followers!

I'm a huge NOLA fan (alas, missed out on the original release). In light of this VLH sale, it'll be interesting to see what happens with NOLA in this post-Oscars day and age for Banksy. We all love him, so more to him

its not the original VLH, its not even titled VLH, its title is Banksy 'Pants'. A collector may see the meaning behind it to be something completely different to the original. However, saying that, it is a nice piece and if the owner has a connection with the charity when he bought it off ebay, then the piece will mean that more to him, therefore making it priceless in his eyes.
