Hi - I was trying to back up my PM's and followed the instructions and had a message saying they would be done in about 2 minutes and that once ready i'd get a pm. 12 hours later and still nothing's come through.
Has any one else had any problems?
Have I done something wrong?
cheers

I heard when you click on Backup Transexual scammers on laptops send Trojans and possibly some worms to your house, sort it Silkpot.

I don't think it's ever worked very well. Could be due to the size of the forum and the system finding it hard with so many accounts that must have millions of PM's
I have never used backup before, why are people so keen on backing up their PM's?

silky. PM backup really useful if you've done trades/deals with other members. in some cases is the only proof you've bought a print, so useful for insurance etc...

Proboards support said if every member has the same problem then it's more than likely disabled. Should have said more than likely in original post. Good idea about printing out for paper trails though Still a MASSIVE pain in the ass not being able to save our private information.Personally i would rather a file with the info saved than a stack of pages printed out using up more resources

Silky - think of the trees ;D
In seriousness - I agree backing up messages is really good and clears the system/mind. Is the issue that back-up means more storage space and storage space costs money? Not saying that you should pay or that we turn this forum into a subscription thing, but could you ask the the host if there is a way of transferring/forwarding messages to a person's email address. Everyone has gmail or other, with virt unlimited storage.
Hope you are feeling better btw, read a month or so ago you were not too great. I pop across to your website every now and again and like the layout.

As the admin could you ask ProBoards if there is a problem? As for why I want them - as others have said, it's useful to keep records to purchases etc.
