Ok the billboard piece was NOT done in any studio, it was done on site as it were! most modern billboard signs are actually on that wierd canvas/plastic type s**t! This is A, for ease of putting up and B, so that they can move posters around to different sites. most modern billboards are like this. If you think it was done in a studio someplace else then whatever! Maybe Ron English helped him out, after all he has a past reputation with billboard subversion!
My point is he never 'took' the spot old skool style, someone paid for it to be there. I bet if anyone can find an image of that billboard a day before the piece went up, you will see the artwork was hung at the same time as the banner.... meaning it was painted in a cosy studio somewhere else
I've posted a photo of the billboard a day before it was hit. See above.
I don't think that proves anything! The company probably had two printed and changed them out overnight with the Banksy one.
I work for Calvin Klein, Inc. We did a similiar company sanctioned billboard takeover a couple years ago in conjunction with the New Museum around the time that "the splasher" was gaining notoriety in New York. We created/printed 3 versions of one our large billboard images posted them over the course of three days.
So believe me, if a company can afford to buy ad space like that in LA, they printed more than one billboard wrap, and Banksy was involved from the get go.

ok banksy may realise that there is a commercial side to what he does, but i dont think he'd go as far as getting into bed with some corporate just to do a staged billboard ad. i mean come on, lets be serious here...

Nice shot of their license plate number there -- if the owner of the building really wanted to go after them for "vandalism", seems like a good place to start.
Looks like someone did call it into the police while the Charlie Brown piece was being removed. It sounds like the guys taking it down claimed they owned the building:
