(BTW, in case Silky's reading this: How ya doin'? Long time no see!) :-)
Hahaha thanks, Dan!! That's quite a welcome!! ;D
I don't have a website, nor do I have anything for sale on eBay. I'm just writing here because I wanted to make you read this, and then realize that you've just wasted 7 seconds of your life. Have a nice day!
I understand the part about opportunistic greed, but WHY would people tag over it!??!???? (No, it's not a rhetorical lament, I REALLY want to know!!!!)
People also tag over other people's works as a sign of disrespect. It happens to everyone, just par for the course. Not everyone is a huge fan of Banksy ...
RPM
I guess I can understand that. Eventually, every piece of street art ends up being tagged over... and that's just the nature of the beast. But still, seeing it gone so soon just feels very sad!

Watching them cut Charlie Brown Arsonist out makes me sick.
I can only assume that pieces get cut out for sale. Ironic how many of Banksy's pieces are about the exploiting nature of a consumerist culture (and no where is this more true than in America)... and here you have idiots exploiting Banksy's work. Sigh.

3 out of 7 of the confirmed banksy's have been stolen what is the world coming to! fair enough if it was on a door or a sign but if i was banksy i would'nt expect someone to cut my piece out of a wall!
with the prices his work fetches im not surprised at all. Gotta face it sooner or later - Banksy is mainstream, popular culture artwork now. Like someone else said before 'if banksy puked on a wall' it would be on the bay within days. An atrocity? a pity? a interesting story? such is life?
I keep on meaning to post this. Banksy has used the Charlie Brown image before, in his response to the 9/11 attacks..... 'One day in September'
That image still sends chills down my spine. SO much conveyed in just one simple picture...

Everytime I see that piece I remember seeing the smoke from my rooftop.... If i had to choose one piece banksy did that would have to the one.
I've never seen that one before. A touching sentiment. My favourite of Banksy's is the one with the child crying, with her teddy, on a bomb site with tv crew holding back first aid men, to film it.
I was in London today for a day out and went to find the canal piece of the living room. I've never seen a Banksy piece apart from photos and once when I saw a rat piece in London about 6 years ago and wasn't aware what a 'Banksy' was, when the girl I was with pointed it out.
When I found it along the canal, it was like seeing a favourite band live. I had a buzz and stared at it for a good few moments, Imagining him drawing all those lines in a fast hit and run situation.
Then I snapped out of this brief daydream when I saw the scrawlings of the two inbred f**kwits Cartman and va***abond and frowned a little.
I followed the canal further and saw their names spunked on other walls and thought it was strange to try to prove to passers by that you can spell your nickname. I was expecting to see proof of their other basic life skills too, such as simple mathematics scrawled on the walls.. '1+1=2'.. '3 x 0 = 0', but they'd probably been buffed.
Also, the skate park area on the way to the Tate Modern, at the Enbankment is a splendid eye feast of graffiti. Like a tattooed arm of a mental but in a good way, worth checking out.

I doubt it's real. As you said, the quality is pretty poor, and I think Banksy is a lot more original than to simply mash up a couple of things he's done before. Carlsbad Crawl came up with a list of pretty compelling reasons why it's probably fake: carlsbadcrawl.com/?p=6118
More than anything, Banksy has claimed responsibility for his other works by putting images up on his website, and there's nothing about this as yet (and it's been a few days - he usually gets it up there pretty promptly)...

thanks for sharing this image.. I never seen it before, and I really like it.. prefer his "stencil look" pieces, but the feeling of this one is spot on!
Other than annoying ads and "pay us if you want the download RIGHT NOW!" schticks, with if you have the patience to wait a couple of minutes, the link is totally free and legit (I tried it out myself first). Compared to the actual book, the colors are not quite as brilliant (it looks like it can be fixed by simply adjusting the contrast if that's important to you), but it's all there.
I doubt it's gonna be on there forever, so grab it while you can.
There - that's my good deed for the day
