I spy with my little eye.... Amilas selling Peter Kennard's "Haywain with Cruise Missiles" online (the APs). You know...the one what that Banksy child nicked that Crude Oils idea from. www.amilasart.comBuy it. Cos its better.

Peter made the image in 1982. He's also got work in the Tate, V&A, Imperial War Museum, etc etc. The National Gallery of Scotland chose his and Cat's Photo Op image as their official portrait of Tony Blair.
£490 is a bloody bargain for a piece by someone of his calibre.

A living legend. I find it hard to believe the hype around some artists, but none for Mr Kennard. These, and some of his other prints, should have been snapped up!
Perhaps £490 at the moment is a bit rich though...

All I know is that after this street art bubble bursts, the likes of Peter will still be around. And his work will echo long after the trends have come and gone.
The direction he and Cat are going is also very interesting to watch. They'll be doing something for CRASH this June.

Aye...so.... "Legend" tends to come up a lot.
Go on...support the legend. Most of you will be at the Nick Walker show tonight. And you'll probably pick up a piece or two. But Nick is no Peter Kennard. Never in his wildest dreams.
Given a choice between a fashion statement and something that's as politically and emotionally charged as it is universally relevant, I'd plump for the latter everytime. So go on. There's lots on the Amilas site. Trust me. These images are even better in the raw.

Smells like a banksy to be honest. No offense to Peter Kennard i have myself a Photo Op, but this looks "too easy" in my opinion.

1982. At the height of the CND movement.
And I think you'll find that Banksy nicked the idea off Peter. Lots of people nick ideas off Peter.
In terms of how good his work is -- that's one for personal opinion. But in mine, and I've been around, he's one of the best.

I love this print. I suspect that in time it will come to be recognised as one of the most significant artistic compositions of the late 20th century. Partly because it's a powerful political statement in its own right and partly because of the way in which it has influenced the street art movement. The only one I know is available here www.eddielock.co.uk/index.php?cPath=83_112. No idea whether the price is reasonable, but I know that I wouldn't sell mine for twice that.

Where's this thread suddenly appeared from??! I remember the morning this came out and asking Mrs J if she'd like it in the house to which I got a big fat 'NO'. I was gutted. I think it's a classic piece.
