SWEET TOOF *Arch 402 JAN 11th* BREAKING NEWS!!!, by shower on Jan 11, 2011 13:33:45 GMT 1, Good luck searching everyone. They will be at tube stations, probably towards the East End. So check Whitechaple, Liverpool Street etc etc!
I think the best bit is the fact they are actually todays real papers!

SWEET TOOF *Arch 402 JAN 11th* BREAKING NEWS!!!, by shaunq on Jan 11, 2011 13:43:13 GMT 1, No need for an invite Shaun, just rock up and have a good time!
I'm gonna have to go now if I don't need to be on the invite list, there's no excuse for not attending.
( think that might be my way of justifying the $$$ I'm bound to spend )
joeschmo reckons he'll be wearing a red, white & black checked shirt. I'll be wearing nothing but a huge smile at the Toofy-goodness on offer so you'll spot me a mile off
If any kind soul working or wandering the streets of London today could pick me up a copy of the Toof-doctored "Metro" from an underground station I'd much appreciate it. I'll cover any costs incurred. Can't get one myself as work out of town
Thanks folks

Shower, I'll have the huge smile to begin with ;D closely followed by tears rolling down my cheeks after I realise how much grief the bank manager's bound to give me when I un-doubtedly flex the plastic with no respect for credit limits or over-draft charges

SWEET TOOF *Arch 402 JAN 11th* BREAKING NEWS!!!, by shower on Jan 12, 2011 9:39:57 GMT 1, Great show, I had a really good time. The space was perfect and it was fantastic to finally see the Sweet Toof and Cept pieces that are painted in the garden. I thought the work inside was equally as good and was rather taken by 4 or 5 of the pieces. If only I had the dollar!
I managed to catch up with quite a few friendly faces and it was good to see some of Burning Candy too. And of course, Shaun and his girlfriend and Sacked (with and without his glasses!). I had a bloody good time!
If anyone couldnt make it last night then definetely head over during the next couple of weeks its well worth it.

I agree, the wood cuts were nice! Great value too imo considering they were an edition of 5 each with 1AP also on offer (but I know that got snapped up pretty sharpish!).
Thats one of the reasons why I appreciate his work, the fact he can produce excellent wood cuts and lino cuts, he excels with oils, acrylics and a spraycan and hes even been known to do a bit of screenprinting! Hes a man of many talents!
Im now quite excited to see what hes got planned for NYC in April!

SWEET TOOF *Arch 402 JAN 11th* BREAKING NEWS!!!, by eschiff on Jan 12, 2011 11:18:35 GMT 1, Yeah, i grabbed Roll On, i was hoping to get the AP of it but it sold to the guy in front of me (it was washed in red ink rather than the sepia).
It was very cool to see all of them next to each other and see the difference in colour...i still don't really understand sepia wash...what does that mean?

It was a great show as shower says,I really loved the 'still Hungry' installation,it made me laugh after a cold night being dragged halfway across London in the freezing cold,to get to the show.It was an occassion,Sweet had made a great effort to paint the front of the gallery and also the garden area.A visit is well worth it and recommended.

I would imagine that guy was very happy it was gorgeous.
that's what i was thinking with the sepia. Interesting that the tone of each one is so different then as i would guess there is a big vat of it they make and spread on the prints. Either way, very cool.

SWEET TOOF *Arch 402 JAN 11th* BREAKING NEWS!!!, by shaunq on Jan 12, 2011 13:31:27 GMT 1, Sepia is the colour and the wash, I assume, is water colour or something similar. I met the guy who picked up the Red AP. He was rather happy to say the least!
I am the proud, and gleeful owner of the "Roll On" Red AP ;D
After seeing the 2x sepia-toned ones on the wall and deciding one of them was gonna be a definite purchase, I grabbed a price list and saw the Red AP listed so quickly spoke to them to find out where it was, was shown it in the back room and staked my claim to it straight away ( sorry Eschiff, I had a feeling other peeps were going to be interested in it so thought I'd better reserve it seen as it was a one-off )
Spent the rest of the evening doing eeny-meeny-miny-mo as to which of the canvases I might want to buy, but recent and forthcoming expenditure on stuff meant I had to bail out before temptation got the better of me.
A fantastic show by SweetToof in a great new venue ! A good crowd there last night as well.
Thanks to Shower & Sacked for the heads-up on the Cept/Toof walls further down the road. I'd have walked off in the other direction if you guys hadn't told me they were there. Really nice to meet you guys.
Had a really good night last night ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Anyone wondering whether to go see this NEEDS to ...........

SWEET TOOF *Arch 402 JAN 11th* BREAKING NEWS!!!, by shower on Jan 13, 2011 10:50:11 GMT 1, How did the hunting go for the newspaper? Did anyone find a copy?
Now that a couple are on ebay I just wanted to point out a couple of points especially as one auction is implying that the piece is an OG with a hand painted cover and that is incorrect.
The newspapers have been finished with a 3 colour screenprint and have a pair of pearly whites hand drawn in black pen in the centrefold pages. The papers will also not have staples as they had to be taken out for the screenprinting process. In total over 200 were handed out on the streets to the general public.
I hope that info helps if anyone is looking to buy on the secondary market and even for anyone that already has one.
It would be great to see some pictures if anyone did get lucky or has any stories to tell!
