This is the piece that Banksy has donated to the Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery. I went back at the weekend. Very strange: no queues, no people. Posters are still for sale in the shop but they are no longer on display (Monkey Parliament all sold out now though).

I think it would have been better if it was a more iconic piece by Banksy Like one of the Crude Oils.

IMO Monkey Parliament should have been donated Yeah, the PR of having a quality piece up in display in the Bristol City Museum for years to come! is a great opportunity, even for Banksy. Plus I don't see this choice really making much sense displayed on its own Opportunity lost

Very odd choice IMO
I agree with you Silky a missed opportunity i think... perhaps the museum were nervous about theft/damage if it had been more iconic???

This piece looks very odd at the musuem, just there all alone. It's still in the same place as it was originally located. I was looking forward to seeing Monkey Parliament again, alas it was not to be.

I thought the angel bust with the paint can was one of the better sculptures at the show. Nice gift

Really liked this from the show and think it will go down well at the museum as it does not need any explanation. Sure it will liven up the visit of many school parties. Think there was a monkey on bomb canvas on display before the show - not sure if this was on loan or another donation to the museum. Either way we do not know for sure if the angel has been donated, or if it has, is the only donation.

The monkey on bomb canvas is still upstairs by the chair and 'rolf harris' piece. I was told by the staff that the angel had been donated by banksy.

Can't understand why people complain about this donation. Allltho there where loads of better pieces I wouldn't mind this one good on mr. B & pest control. IMO it's a typical Banksy.

I think the Museum did well out of the show and has a lasting momento over and above the additional cash it earned. Good on Mr. B ;D

Although one of the crude oils, or one of his paintings may have spoken more to Banksy's signature subversive art, I think this choice speaks to Banksy the graffiti vandal and therefore more of a statement about Banksy. I like this choice.
