I am personally friends with David and this is an outrage. I can not believe people would disrespect a living legend like WIZBONG. I will make sure that Dave is aware that there are 3 pages of well wishers on here and that the WE LOVE WIZ threads has been read almost 1500 times.

I am one of the earliest members of the forum and yet very rarely post, however I can not lurk silently over this post. Wiz has always struck me as being a font of knowledge, a shrewd observer and a very personable individual. I respect his views on art and envy his collection. I will not bother to comment on those who have upset him since. whilst I understand his reluctance to continue contributing, I believe to do so would give them false credence.
Suffice to say, the only way to deal with bullies is to ignore them and take strength in the multitude of friends who will stand by you.

No offense to Wiz but i doubt there are many more members older than him. I used to respect his input but when i found out his age this just added to my respect for him as a person. I know age shouldnt matter but if i get to 73 (which is doubtful) and iam able to use whatever new gadgets the younger generations are using and have a love, interest and knowledge of a hobby that would make me happy then i would be pretty content. Because i cant even do that now!

@ dosharaithe (sic). You're right it is an art forum so perhaps keep to the art. Perhaps you were looking for politics.ie or slugger o'toole? Surely dothÃosach would have been a better name or perhaps amadán as you clearly have no idea what you're talking about when refering to Wiz.
Come back soon Wiz, I enjoy your banter and madness and it would be a sh1tier forum without you.

Very strange and sad.Wiz is a legend on here and I hope that this will just be one of his temporary time offs.One of the best things on here is Wiz.Hurry back for Silkys and all our sakes please.

This really irritates me. Why would anyone have anything awful to say about David...He has always been supportive and knowledgeable both in art and furniture, and has always contributed in a positive way, not to mention has added some humor along with everything else. I hope that this can be water under the bridge and he will come back...If not, you will be missed WIZBONG

Had a few emails from Wiz.
I now know the site it was posted on and he said it has all been removed.
It was not on a forum but on someone's blog.
He told me some of the things it said and they were harsh and out of order.
His sadness is that the person who owns the 'blog' they were posted on is obviously a member on here and as he does not know who it is, that could post such slanderous comments, he has decided to retire from the forum.
He is aware of all the nice comments and in time, he may pop back.

Sad day for the forum.
On many occasion Wiz's comments put a smile on my face, a true gentleman who struck me as the sort of guy many on here could/should aspire to be more like in their outlook. A fountain of knowledge and I for one will miss his input on here..
Hope to see you back here in the future Wiz..
