Very sad news Hope David is ok now, and is feeling better.
I know what its like to be on the receiving end of this sort of thing also, so I know how upsetting it can be.

I have been asked to pass this message on -

Good morning Dan.
First off my name is John, i am Davids (Wiz) partner and im writing to you on his behalf but also with his permission, Please can you post this message on your forum.

A couple on nights ago now i received a telephone call late in the evening from David asking me to come back home from Manchester where i work, he had apparently seen some nasty and untrue comments on another forum / blog site which had been written by the site owner about him, i told him not to worry but as i have known David for over thirty years now i knew that he would so i travelled back, when i got home i found him almost in tears with worry. I looked at the site and could not believe that someone who did not know him could ever write something like that on there, later some of the comments were removed. David spent most of yesterday (Saturday) worrying about this, he has made many friends on here and other Art forums and felt that he had now lost all of these new friends through the was indeed frightened to go anywhere his computer let alone onto any forums for fear of what other lies he might have seen about himself. Last evening the nastiness started up again on the aforementioned blog / site and not being in any position to contact the owner of the site i placed a request on there asking for anyones help in giving me the owners name and or address (so that i may meet up with them and discuss this matter either face to face or via our solicitors either of which suits me fine), another sleepless night for David however.
He is today still quite shaken by all this although i have assured him that all is ok and he has nothing to worry about but i feel that it is time he no longer contributed to any forum if this is what it does for him, he is 73 years of age and doesnt need this worry. He will keep in touch with friends he has made via emails etc of course.

That's a shame. Dave seems a great guy and I enjoy reading his posts. He really shouldn't worry about what some faceless wind up merchant says on a daft blog.

Yeah, I don't know where this happened and what was said but its a clear sign of how upsetting and serious attacks, lies, abuse, online can be for the people on the receiving end.

I know people think I'm heavy handed with rules on here, but as you can see in this case, if you don't have rules people can go too far and really cause serious problems.

Don't know Wiz personally or ever changed a PM with him but he is one of the persons I enjoy to read here. Great humor and seem to have a great heart too!!!

This really upsets me . I don't think I've ever had any particular contact with him, but I have always enjoyed his posts and reading his views on things. From what I have heard he is a genuinely nice guy (much more genuine than a lot of people out there) and I hope this issue gets resolved soon and that he decides to come back on here when he's ready.

It would certainly help to know what has happened in case we can support Wiz in any way or help hit back at whoever has upset him.

I know only too well how heartening it can be to have the support of members of the forum when you feel things are against you.

Fingers crossed for a swift recovery and return to the forum but in the meantime please feel free to pm if it helps to talk.

Extremely sorry to hear that, Wiz you've given me so much advice and have encouraged me with many things since I joined on this forum. I hope those bastards get what they deserve and that us forumers will always be behind you.

I first met Wiz at a Laz show in London a few years ago. I never believed he was in his 70's so it was great to meet him, have a few drinks in the pub after and talk art with a true gentleman.
