Phenomenology 0.1 Debut screen-print release from Remi/Rough.
November 10th 2010 sees the first ever 'official' screen print release, Phenomenology 0.1, from artist Remi/Rough through Laura McNamara Ltd.
"Phenomenology attempts to create conditions for the objective study of topics usually regarded as subjective: it seeks through systematic reflection to determine the essential properties and structures of consciousness and conscious experience."
Phenomenology is as close to a Remi/Rough original as print can get. The textures and layers have been meticulously put together to have a direct dialogue with his paintings.
The screen print is 4 colours, 80cm x 80cm and is an edition of 50 only! All editions are signed and numbered by Remi/Rough. The prints will be selling at £125.
Remi/Rough was born in 1971 and was an integral part of the UK graffiti scene for over a quarter of a century. His work has since abstracted into geometric swashes of colour, tension filled shapes and broken lines.
Remi/Rough has recently shown his work in Santander, Berlin, New York and San Francisco as well as his home city of London. He was recently commissioned to create an installation for the Museum of Fine Art in Santander and he was also invited to give a talk at the Tate Modern as part of the Street Art Series exhibition. Remi is also one of the key artists behind the World renowned art collective; Agents Of Change.
