Hi I have just finised an edition of 5 of the below canvases (which are currently for sale for £80 see banksyforum.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ebaychat&action=display&thread=31864) and thought i would give forum members a chance to win the original (pictured below). Given that it's a tough time of year and we could all do with a laugh i will be donating the canvas to the person who can post the best or funniest reason they should have it... I will decide and announce the winner next Monday evening (26th). Details are as follows: title: Rodent Defence League (original) Media: Hand-cut stencils, spraypaint and inks Canvas size: 60 x 60 x 5cm Cheers id-iom

Great image, love the idea Damn these scientists can miniaturise anything nowadays! Mmmm haven't really got a reason why I should win, but I do have two cats called Comma and Hyphen, so to keep with the typographic theme if I won the canvas I'd have to call the mouse 'Full stop'. See what the moggies think of that ;D |

Great piece! I think that I should win this piece because my two gerbils sometimes have a tendency to try getting out of their cage and in the past have escaped. Hopefully putting this piece on the wall opposite their cage will scare the s**t out of them and they won't try to get out again!  Nice work btw! |

Apart from the fact that I actually do love this, my reason is:
A True Story: I have a little friend, and when he was what must have been about 5 years old, we gave them a couple of hamsters (or gerbils or something) and one he called bubblegum. Perhaps in order for the name to make sense my little friend would pop the hamster in his mouth and walk around with it. He would also put it on the dogs' backs for rides, but that's beside the point - well not exactly; one day when the hamster was having a ride, and having seen my little friend pop the hamster into his mouth several times, one of the dogs popped the hamster into his own mouth - and it never came out again.
SO, I think this is a fitting symbol of retaliation from the little hamster and I will hang it somewhere where my dog can see it and get a little chill down her spine (or at least remember the poor [tasty!] hamster!).
Keep up the good work anyway idiom, I think it's great.

really would love that canvas- but have just watched spurs scrape through to a final at wembely and have to change my soiled pants, so do not feel all that funny at the mo!! well done burnley- but harrys blue and white army march on!!!

I feel i should be given the picture as i recently had a house party and a picture roughly about the same size as the one your giving away was destroyed . Somebody though it would be funny to start throwing slices of Chorizo around, being the host i am i let these stupid games continue until i saw that a rogue slice was stuck to the picture. Long story short, don't have food fights in your house as there will nearly always be tears. Anyway there is now a huge stain on the canvas and is pretty much a write off, unless i keep it hidden in a dark room with only soft lighting for company. So finally i think your canvas would look just superb in my house.

I have an infestation of Borrowers in my house! I have tried everything to get rid of them but nothing seems to work.  If I had this canvas I could put it in my magical cupboard (the one used in the Indian and the Cupboard) which would bring the mouse and his deadly weapon to life. Then I will show them damn Borrowers who is boss. After the Borrowers were gone I would reverse the effect and put the canvas in pride of place on my wall. |
