Yeah, good luck Jef.
To everyone else. Honestly now, would you put Lot 24 on your wall if you weren't a OB GYN?

Sale not going too well so far. Not sure which lot up to, but really sluggish..... only 12 sold out of about 32 lots.

Every estimate was very optimistic -- Not to mention there has been a number of Urban Art Auctions within the past 3- 4 months -- I think it's time to let it settle a bit

Progress made £2900. You still see these go for £1500 on ebay

Whoever set these estimates have absolutely no clue and/or completely oblivious. On top of that set in nyc - the city of the depressed. Cut some of these by 25% and even up to 50% and they still wouldnt sell. Way to go!

I have to agree... there seriously has to be an adjustment with prices and people in no way can expect to get last years prices in a s**t world economy... The problem is the greed we have seen with this scene in last few years and people aren't willing to accept the fact that it's over for the time being and who knows, maybe for good???

Banksy, Walker, Faile and myself didn't sell... Only 2 DFace did (way below low estimate, probably just the reserve price), Denning sold and Fairey's Barrack too. The whole result is negative, which is not a surprise, given the context...

I also think few people actually knew about that sale and its urban art section.

Jef, quite a bummer that your pieces didn't sell, they are great, also love all the stuff around the city, I seem to find one or two of yours in nooks and cranies all over, its GREAST! but to put the auction in context I just called to see what they were going to do with the Grannies and a few pieces, and well they have set the reserves way to high for the economic situation we are sitting in here in NYC.
PUD, you should just send your stuff to out to auction, based on your collection and valuation it would be a steal, give the remaining amount over the 105 to charity.

yep, agreed Theb. Anyway, auctions aren't all and what matters is that we keep on keepin' on ! I believe in a good balance between street works, gallery shows, special events such as gatherings and festivals, auction sales and studio work... Having cut stencils since 1982, I just hope I can go on for another 26 years in spite of financial crisis and such things ! (oh myyy, just realizing I'll be 78 years old in 26 years ! sigh...)

Cool, Guy ! I'll be happy to meet you. Will you visit Sophie's gallery ? Let me know when you're coming as soon as you know so that I can make sure I'm around... And, btw, congrats for your new pieces : excellent, as always.
