New street stuff in London, by mred on Dec 4, 2007 17:38:20 GMT 1, Came across couple of your pieces whilst looking for the BRP Gallery and LSG this afternoon. Top work Jef, brightened up a very grey and drizzly London walk about.
Great walking around that part of London as so many works to look at. Wish I had planned it a bit better as am sure I missed loads of great pieces. K Guy's fag packets still visible.

New street stuff in London, by Jef Aerosol on Dec 4, 2007 22:25:06 GMT 1, BRP must mean Black Rat Press ? A lovely gallery indeed that Pure Evil took me to. I discovered the "Scary" lettering and also saw the Mona Lisa for the first time, I also saw my second Banksy in the flesh at the entrance of Black Rat Press. But didn't like that plexiglass thing at all ! And, by the way, are those Banksys recent ? As the woman in the gallery (Sarah) told me the place is only 2 months old... It was nice to see those pieces for real as I had only seen them on the web before... The only Banksy I had seen so far was the Maid in Chalk farm (saw her in summer 2006 when I pasted my Sid vicious next to it and in summer 2007 when I pasted my Hendrix at the other end of the wall)... But what does LSG stand for ?

New street stuff in London, by Jef Aerosol on Dec 4, 2007 22:37:09 GMT 1, Mimi is a good friend of mine and I'm the one who suggested him he should register as a member here ! He started hitting the walls not very long ago and has pasted a lot here in Lille. He is now among the artists represented by Anne Vignial too and has also pasted in Paris several times. Some of his paste ups could also be spotted in Brussels. He's been a daddy for about 4 months now and he's quite busy between the baby, his day job and his art. Miguel (his real name) is a cream of a man. Ragnar of Blind Angle has also contacted him and now sells Mimi's works too.

New street stuff in London, by Jef Aerosol on Dec 4, 2007 22:41:38 GMT 1, oh yep, LSG ! should have guessed ! Never been there though i tried to twice, took me some time to find the place as there isn't any sign, and it was closed each time I went there (last weekend and last july)... I sent them an email too, quite a while ago, to know if they'd be interested in my work, but haven't got any reply... But I visited Charley's place at 108 Leonard street and I liked the place a lot. He told me he might try to keep it a bit longer than planned. And, by the way, I liked his dad's paintings (exhibited there now)
Hey, Romanywg ! You're here too ! cool ! Thanks for the mail... No prob about next thursday ! lol ! But what is this auction you're mentioning ?

New street stuff in London, by Jef Aerosol on Dec 4, 2007 22:58:13 GMT 1, Yes, I think all artists should participate : it would break that "mystery" and make relationships so much simpler... I also like the way some galleries speak openly here and just behave "normally" instead of cultivating secrets and mysteries and unsaid things !!! Those riddle games sound so childish when observed from a distance !!! lol ! I seize this occasion to tell you guys that after a few months as a member (when did i register, Dan ?) I really enjoy the friendliness and the quality of many of the people I've "met" here. I also want to say thank you to those who have got in touch with me and to those who have purchased some pieces thanks to this very forum. A big thanks to Silky for being such a great bloke and for my forum too. And special thanks to Ragnar (Blind angle) for having let me know about this forum. In fact, he got intouch with me last july just after i spent a couple of days in london because he saw my "sitting kid" in leonard street. He wanted to purchase a piece, but instead of selling him one I visited his website and asked whether he'd like to work with me ! This is how it started ! Then he told me he was going to announce our collab on the Banksy forum... I said : what forum ? And he gave me the link... So.... this was just to say that this forum is like a good ole pub where it's cool to share a pint with some friends, by the fireside ! lol !!!

New street stuff in London, by Jef Aerosol on Dec 4, 2007 23:24:15 GMT 1, I've just received a message on my facebook about my name being mentioned in an article about street art in the Metro.
Here's an extract of the message : (...) okay, i didn't actually see it myself but a good friend of mine (who knows your work) told me the story, so here goes... a photography evening class (including a journalist) were out and about looking for street art and they found a couple of your pieces around shoreditch way. so, you get a name check in the Metro (london daily paper), but i'm not sure what day it was printed but it was some time last week. if i find out, i'll let you know. So check anyone you know in london that travel on the underground (...)
Can any of you help ?

New street stuff in London, by mred on Dec 4, 2007 23:37:30 GMT 1, Jef sorry for using TLAs (Three letter acronyms), was using a friends computer so was trying to be quick. Try and avoid in future.
Also saw scary and vandals, awesome pieces. I wanted to pop into Pure Evil gallery but note on door saying away setting up Open Studio show, think open Wednesday through to Saturday. Loved Nick Walker's London TMA (The Morning After) at Black Press Gallery, actually preferred print to canvas this would have saved me over ยฃ11K but actually both sold out.
Agree with you Jef that not sure about perspex over two banksy outside Black Press Gallery. Lots of Obey paste up around that area which look cool.
