where else can you buy at the moment a signed copy of the Faile book aside PaperMonster? In my knowledge if it is sold out at PM then it is sold out. Or am I seeing something wrong here?

I'd put money on the other galleries that represent Faile having copies soon... and their own website perhaps? Maybe some more at a launch event?

To my knowledge there are three versions of the Faile 'Faile Prints + Originals 1999-2009' book. 1. Special studio edition just released and sold out by Paper Monster. 2. An artist edition of just 200 books to be released mid-September from www.faile.net. 3. Ordinary release available from various online, high street stores and galleries etc. Plain and simple!

Ok, this is the 3rd and final time I will post this .. I spoke to Paper monster yesterday via email and they told me, to there knowledge there are around 800 of the signed studio edtion being released. They (PM) had 200 of those, that means there are roughly 600 more of the studio edition likely to be sold via other outlets. Paper monster said they do not know where, so please dont bombard them with emails

Going to nip into Waterstone's tomorrow to see if they can order in a signed studio edition. Failing that a bog standard issue is fine for me.

Got my signed studio edition delivered today. It's very nice. :-) Me too - great book, really nicely produced. Just hope we don't get a VAT bill from Fedex now - I think they can send them out after delivery. The form said 'Faile Book' as description and value as $50. Doesn't really help the cause!

I was under the impression that not all books are exempt. What I meant was if they'd made it clear on the form it was an Art reference book then there'd definitely be no problem, because 'Faile book' probably doesn't mean anything to the customs people.

I pre-ordered one handfinished from gestalten. In case, I might get one. I'll let go the signed papermonster at cost if anyone wasn't able to grab one!

It's a good book for sure, well printed as you would expect from Gestalten.
However I thought it was going to be a catalogue raisonne for Faile prints between 1999 and 2009 and it clearly isn't. There are numerous faile releases missing not least ALL of the oversold prints from the March 2007 release and all of the POW releases.
There are also errors on the release dates of some of the prints - for example Pink Prince Charles is listed as being released in 2006 when it was January 2007 - I know because I bought one then.
So a good book but maybe prepared a little lazily....

Arf. I really thought that it would like a catalogue raisonné of prints. I don't understand why major street artist don't release one (like Shep, Banksy, Faile...) that already have a lot of prints that went out and there's also a lot of good fakes out. It always help to have a book like that without having to ask everything to pestcontrol... I find that my catalogue raisonné are the first thing I look up when I buy a print from Lichtenstein, Warhol, Chagall, Miro or Picasso to check them out (unless you have extensive knowledge on everything).
And they look quite reluctant to do it also..

brushstrokes75 - Although Pez's post above suggests it may not be entirely accurate, there are a good 25 pages (so 50-ish facing pages) like this that catalogue a lot of their prints...

Pez, I haven't seen the book but I am pretty sure Prince Charles was released in 2006 (I bought one too). See bellow

Maybe motor. I certainly bought mine in the january 2007 release once the faile shop reopened after christmas. I suppose it may have been initially released in 2006 and didn't sell out until 2007.

Yes, something like that. I doubt they would be printing stuff over Xmas and New Year. I agree with you though on the catalogue raisonné. It would be great. However I wasn't under impression this book was ever supposed to be one. I feel like it would be too early and a bit pretentious. Maybe in another 10 years?
