Even if you don't like his work his talent and ability is clear to see. Personally, I feel 'idiot love', 'study plasticoid spasticoid' and the 'retrobate' series are amongst some of his strongest work to date. I take it equates to 2 stars??

online right ;D They are indeed sold out online, although there are (at last count) 11 still available at the gallery in LA. These are ONLY available to those visiting the gallery IN PERSON, please don't call or email asking for one, it's not going to happen, there is no mail-order from LA.

Congrats to Micallef.
A cracking looking print, low edition and large size for a reasonable price.

Would have gone for the Mic but dont have a room/setting for it, apparently! Well done to all that had the balls to purchase.

t**t. I was resigned to paying flipper prices, but not at that markup.

Oh, I forgot we aren't allowed to comment negatively on flippers, so I await my ban with eagerness.

t**t. I was resigned to paying flipper prices, but not at that markup. The seller is a utter moron. Absurd price and a complete waste of time. Ebay is full of high BIN prices that never sell.

I saw both prints at the gallery and they really are stunning especially for their size. I don't think anyone will be disappointed by any means.
When you are really, really close up to the Mic it is kind of pixelated like a very fine newspaper print. I tried to take photos but they turned out blurry.

I think a lot of the b&w Mic prints have the same effect, especially the POW releases.

Id say its a fine halftone, not pixelated.

It's probably the texture of the canvas showing through - you can see the weave in a lot of prints where the paint is only thinly applied.

I havent seen them but i think its a fine halftone, so as to picke up the detail of brush strokes, dont forget this needs to be screened so, thats the way to pick up the fine detail unless its a giclee.
