Hi forum! Just an idea I had while cutting my new piece thats taking forever! (gonna be my best so far tho i think!). I had to mock this up today to publish the idea and then I'll re-work next week larger and in more detail when i've finished my new one. I couldn't resist it ;D Prince of Thieves

cheers man, dont you think it wouldnt look enough like Robin Hood if i took the can off the back. I mean i was wondering if it was clear enough anyway? I was going to add two more cans and another brush

i suppose your right but the brush does seem allittle to high an almost looks as its balancing on his shoulder.

Agree with T*3 about the brush. What if he had a brown tube (like you receive prints in) on his back?? Could be strapped over his shoulder. Just a (potentially rubbish) suggestion. Also, would suggest you have a look at the hand holding the stencil. Looks a bit pincer like at the moment. And maybe some drips coming off the letters?? Post up the final version when its done. Could look really good. Cheers, Lef

Thanks for the comments peeps.
T3 - totally agree gotta move that brush, i will probably add another can and put the brush between them and lower.
Lef - Yep pinser thumb he certainly has, nice and easy to change. Not sure about the tube as it may detract from Robin being Banksy (as banksy is prob wouldnt have one).
Hero - nice try son. Mind you tinkerbells skirt could be seen as similar to Robin Hoods skirt. I am very pleased with this idea and the message behind it, this is why I rushed to publish it and confirm it my own. If do think of a good idea, I would suggest you mock it up and lock it in, because if I ever saw someone produce an idea i had thought of but not executed, I would have to throw it away.
I'll be honest Hero, i've learn not to bite on the forums, but it is a little rude to talk to someone else on my thread, especially using the words 'sole my idea'.
But just so you don't double up.
- I may rework with an archery target that he has just signed. - I have thought of him having just done a Banksy behind him, if so it might be the school kids crossing (robbing). - title might change to 'Robs From The Rich'. - I may hand paint a grey wall background in acryclics (with green moss etc to make it look sewery)
Thanks for the feedback, I'm looking forward to re-working it.
Cheers

Levi, I really like this, the can and brush seem a little out of proportion, but i do think that they work really well in the piece

Although its a strong image without the RH link. LOVE IT! what about some words somewhere to create the link. maybe a 'maid marion or friar tuck' tag on the stencil?

I do see your point about it not being that obvious, I guess I thought the title was the main clue and given that the subject matter is quite simple I thought no harm in a bit of 'working out'. I like where you're going with the tag, but can't risk complicatiing it, it must remain simple. I'm starting to think, just a hint of a skirt ( ;D im sure thats the wrong word for it, but you know the leather jobby robin wears) and a shoulder strap, with the cans and brush sorted might do the trick. That's it! I'll do that and try a realistic grey/green wall (keeping in murky) with a friar tuck tag on. Mind if I use that tag idea minutewheel?......... Thanks for the comments peeps

I'm working on this today, it's going to be a castle wall in background with said changes to his brush, cans, strap etc. I may also go with the friar tuck tag idea (minutewheel I'll sort you out for that) and am going to ask someone I know (as I'm no good a tagging) if he will do it for me. (he is very established and recognised by you all as a daddy of street art! shouldn't mention him until he says yes - fingers crossed ;D, its likely he'll say no but worth a shot)
cheers

feels great to be back to painting after all that xmas palaver I'm fairly happy with this now. Didnt get a reply from the ideal candidate for the tag (offered 500 quid for ten tags to make worth while) oh well, perhaps it was a bit optimistic. So here's the finished idea. Its 90cm x 60cm, on box edge canvas, multiple stencils and spraypaint. Photo isn't great, a bit of light coming in at the top. Appreciate hearing what people think. Hey Daniel, got a test spray (tidy one) on the way out to you for the friar tuck tag idea. cheers!

Like it a lot Levi mate, works really well with having the different brushes instead of the can. Very nice.

Really like this one, only just seen the thread and think the changes that you've made definitely make the image much stronger. Keep up the good work!

Gee thanks all! Really happy with your comments and glad to hear people think my changes have improved it. I wanted to add more layers on the wall to make it more realistic (even went and took photo of the Blaise castle wall here in Bristol - where some of Robin hood was filmed I might add ;D), but i've been holding back the burning desire to add more detail in the interest of keeping it as simple as possible. I think this was the right decision as it would be too cluttered with more layers. Anyway thanks again awesome forumers!....keep em comming

bit of a delay on making the changes to this one. I think they improve it though. The friar tuck looks a bit light, it's actually darker brown, but i've messed with the photo because of the flash. Just thought i'd give an update. feedback always welcome!

I agree with bob LEVI, it's looking really nice, you just need to see maybe the top of the tube on his back, as tho it's strapped round him, with the brushes popping out.

i think i agree with you, but am battling with the desire to keep it as minimal as possible. The mrs agrees as well so i'll give a bag a go as my final addition. Will post when done.
Cheers for the feedback!
