Ian Francis - affordable now but for how long....?, by Gallery My Arse on Jun 25, 2008 14:00:14 GMT 1, Just a thought really as to the artist whose prints offer real affordability now but may be harder to afford in a few months down the line. For what it's worth, I think at the moment Ian Francis offers tremendous value for money for beautiful prints from very small editions. I've got a couple of his prints and they are lovely in the flesh. With all the positive reviews regarding his LAZ piece and rumours abound of future major gallery tie ins, surely these are on the up. Anybody else care to offer opinions on whose work may be underpriced?

Ian Francis - affordable now but for how long....?, by Gallery My Arse on Jun 25, 2008 14:20:28 GMT 1, No, not really. Just curious as to what other people think about artists discussed on these boards. I love Julian Opie's prints but can't even begin to think about owning one due to the prices so it's always interesting to hear other people's thoughts. I'm not really interested in flipping two months down the line as I think you need to be by your computer 24 hours a day to buy them when they are released. I try and have a life as well and don't really want to spend a year posting 2000 messages on art forums.

Why does this even get mentioned on a street art forum?

BTH, I don't like the mount of threads that start off like this.
Art is subjective, you love, hate, or somewhere in between an image.
If you want to make oney on flipping up to you, as a buyer will pay what they want, and most people don't keep their print/originals for years anyway, you can see that by what is for sale from previous shows/releases. Most of us are fickle who get bored and fall in love with the next "sliced bread" and need funds to buy it.
Making a thread like this will always create a bit of a backlash, as you will be read as wanting to make a fast buck, so please think before you post.
Nuff said.

Ian Francis - affordable now but for how long....?, by Gallery My Arse on Jun 25, 2008 14:32:05 GMT 1, Fair play. As you can see by my user name I despair at the fast bucks made by "galleries". I was only interested in seeing who other people rated at the moment and thought had a bright future. I'm happy for the thread to be deleted if it offends.

Meow sister, put your nails away 2000 posts in a year isnt that bad, I just set my self a target of 5 moans a day...it soon adds up. Nah its a valid question, but you would be supprised how many people join here and ask the same thing. Welcome to the forum Mr arse

Ian Francis - affordable now but for how long....?, by woodsman on Jun 25, 2008 15:05:28 GMT 1, Would agree with Micaleff - seems to be offering good value at the moment - or alternatively is the secondary market now at a more realistic level and was just over priced & hyped a few months ago โ could it be the end of the flipper economy? plus Francis has never been street art.

How come you didn't pick up the pencil drawing that was being offered on here recently Cocteau? It was a beautiful looking drawing. Not to your taste?

Prob a good thing, as I have nearly run out of wall space. When I move to a bigger house, think I will nab me one!

As for a good buy: I agree that Micallef prints are a steal right now. Adam Neate as well. A good time to get some amazing art on your walls.

I really want to get more IF charcoal/graphite drawings. I dont know why but I don't think he releases them. Loads of nice ones one his site, and I've emailed him loads about them, but no reply.

Im a big fan of "red chopper" and "alice" and a few others, but at the same time some of his more recent works just don't do it for me... subjectivity and all.
