Completely agree - this piece is stunning.
Can't wait to get the preview catalogue...it will be interesting to see what prices Laz have put against the works...

Ian Francis Exodus Exhibition, by Richard on Mar 25, 2010 17:44:31 GMT 1, Just heard that a lot of the pieces have sold or are on hold. Only about 6 or so still available!
Pretty impressive considering the show has not even opened yet!

Ian Francis Exodus Exhibition, by bs on Mar 25, 2010 23:05:14 GMT 1, Insane, the quality of the work is just another level, easily the best show I have seen in a long time and the prices were very reasonable too, certainly would not say the portraits not sold were crap either, bit of an odd thing to say really if you have not actually seen them

Ian Francis Exodus Exhibition, by oneeye on Mar 26, 2010 5:31:26 GMT 1, A very strong outing by Mr Francis. The man continues to impress. I'm not surprised his pieces are selling at this price point. He's super talented and his work is beautiful. Kudos all around.

Ian Francis Exodus Exhibition, by Gentle Mental on Mar 26, 2010 7:06:36 GMT 1, i worry he might veer too far away from devouring bunny - because that was beyond good.
random juxtaposing is fine, but i like his work better when their vibes are more focus and intense.
but he is mad talent.
and i'm too darn dumb.

Ian Francis Exodus Exhibition, by rsj on Mar 27, 2010 1:01:11 GMT 1, Went to the exhibition. The one that stood out for me was "A Group of People Pretend to be Sick or Injured". It didn't look that special on the preview, but the blue in the painting is really striking in person. The space he left at the bottom half of the painting makes it a very well-balanced composition IMHO. Some of the other canvases were a bit too dense and busy for me.
"Portrait #1" and "Five People Crack Up at the Opera House" were my two other favourites. Again, "Portrait #1" looks somewhat surprisingly a lot better in person than the photo. The face was stunning, and the white hair was beautifully painted.
From left: Portrait #1, Crush, Portrait #4

Ian Francis Exodus Exhibition, by Richard on Mar 30, 2010 20:03:32 GMT 1, So did anyone here snap one of these up?
I am loving the Opera House piece...although my favorite is the House Becoming Detached From The Ground (or whatever it was called!)...
