Nate Frizzell Lost in the Thicket Opening: Saturday October 17th, 7-10pm
LeBasse Projects warmly welcomes gallery represented artist Nate Frizzell for his new solo exhibition, Lost in the Thicket. In this much anticipated show, Frizzell introduces new themes of self discovery within his work. The gallery will complement Frizzellโs work with The Kids Are Alright in the Project Room; a traveling group show curated by gallery director, Beau Basse. While Frizzell has always striven to create work that speaks about the human condition, Lost in the Thicket finds the artistโs scope narrowed to the concept of discovering oneโs own identity and the obscured paths that follows. As a result, each painting becomes a metaphor for choosing different paths in life, while finding oneself.
Though his illustrative-meets-hyper realistic aesthetic always exhibits Frizzellโs tremendous technical merit, he aims to push the envelope even further in this collection in terms of both depth of subject and physical skill. As a result, Lost in the Thicket features stunningly detailed works in which a series of protagonists radiate from their surrounding environment with matched innocence and helpless confusion.

Nate Frizzell @ LeBasse Projects 10/17, by origo on Oct 14, 2009 20:28:38 GMT 1, Just saw the preview, lovely body of work.
His work seems like a good blend of Charming Baker and Josh Keyes.

Nate is not really a street guy, although he has done a few large privately commissioned murals...maybe we will make him go to town in the streets.

Nate Frizzell @ LeBasse Projects 10/17, by mookie on Oct 21, 2009 9:39:36 GMT 1, I like 'to fall for flattery'. Reminds me of a daft punk video from a while back. shame I only found this after most had sold.
