I like it. Vhils was my favourite at Cans and this is at least a similar style to his piece there. The price is a slight concern but I'm sure that there are 150 people out there willing to pay this price for it over the next few days, weeks or months.
I feel POW have priced it correctly for fans of Vhils with slightly deeper pockets rather than for people just to take a gamble on and sell it in a few months time. If it was £150 they'd be sold out now but probably not to people who actually plan on keeping them.

I prefered the first print. More interesting, and more detail. I'd like a small original though.

I like it, but not £275 like it! I felt his 1st print WAS overpriced, but admitedly that one has grown on me a great deal, while I'm less a fan of portraits generally for my own walls so I'm not too bothered about this one, although I do think it's a cool image by a very talented, young artist. Good luck to those who want it, hope you all enjoy the piece.

dunno i think/hope this print is going to have a looking back from behind a mirror feeling to it when its framed
£275 is inline with vhils 1st print release why should this be any cheaper?

I'm not cirticizing the pricing...just think ppl saying by putting it at a certain price it'll make the real fans buy....just find that lame...
having said that...weaker image / large edition....

the stupidest reason I ever heard for pricing...so it's for the 'real fans'.... the pricing has more to do with market value, from the last release the edition has increased by 50 prints for the same price. Im sure this will happen with future releases. I really cant understand why people are moaning about the price. It happens with all artists

It happens with all artistsWith the greatest of respect Ron, an overwhealming majority of artists do not manage to sell out there first ever print edition of 100 at £275 each! I respect and enjoy this artist's work, but I genuinly felt that his 1st print was priced a good £100 or so too high, even considering the methodology/process. Whatever happened to prices getting to a certain level, based on a body of work put together over time? The answer is, "nothing, but POW can charge what they like and SOME/enough people will pay it, in the hope that their purchase becomes profitable, regardless of the art" IMHO of course. That said, had I had a chance to think about it and really digest the image, I still would have bought Vhils' 1st release, because the image alone would have swayed me, but £275 is a significant amount of £££ to me and not an amount of money I'd like to regret having spent later, so no snap decisions for me. At £150 I'd have had it and maybe even this one as well.

[quote author=ronhill board=general thread=25856 post=376479 time=1222088782 reread your post HC [/quote] Yup, a bit self contradictory I guess . While I gladly accept that Vhils is not a run of the mill talent and so his art commands higher than run of the mill prices, I stand by my opinion that for a 1st ever print release in an edition of 100, £275 was an awful lot of money to ask. Had it been released by ANYONE other than POW, I do not believe it would have sold out on the 1st day, let alone within the 1st half hour. But as stated, I am not a detractor of the lad's work, it's refreshing, striking, attractive and I do enjoy seeing it. I just feel, as I know some others do too, that POW's prices are a tad high pretty much across the board. That said, I do hoe that Vhils goes on to develop his talent further, because some of his work so far has been special. (I think my favourite so far is the Graffle piece)
