those sculptures are good fun,but this whole exhibit feels more like aggresive branding than art.maybe thats the point and i just missed it,but then i've only ever liked a few of his pieces.

It's not my favorite show from D* and I tend to agree with walters, it is more of an 'I'm here and this is what I do' than an exhibition that shows development and consistency. Some nice pieces but non I feel I could live with for the rest of my life. I think the life span of alot of this work is short and will become quite boring after the novelty value runs out.

Different show different works i suppose, the BRP show was good and had some of those Collages in perspex which looked great to me, this Levine show has the HPMs and the works on the old desks, the show i would have liked to have seen but had probably not even heard of DFace was the show which produced the Pop Tarts, Che, images / works. I think of all those works and the D Dog and DSTQ as classic DFace works, who knows which works from the BRP and Levine shows will be thought like that in the future?.

Death and Glory show was amazing, it's then when I was intrduced to D* and my 'forever love' with DSTQ. Then when 'Eyecons' came about I thought that D* would find it difficult to better himself as that was some amazing show. For me, I was right. Even tho 'aPOPcolyps Now' was a great show, was it really better than he had done before? Not in my opinion and this current show is weaker still. It's not that the works are bad by any means, it's just not as fresh as D&G was and not as breath taking as Eyecons, and whilst it's over 2 years later, I expected D* to be producing 'sh!t stopping' concepts and a much cleverer usage of his trademark 'Wings/Tongue and D*Dog. I'm left entertained but unfulfilled by this show. D* is better than this, I just think money and fame have taken front seat over development and concept quality. All just my opinion of course!

he has done more shows in 3 years than many other artists. personally he has done brilliantly considering he started shows back in 2006. people forget its only been 3 years in the art world.

Maybe thats the problem for me Freerange, quantity over quality. He's losing his edge for fame and fortune IMO. Do you really think his last two shows (All Your Dreams Belong To Us & APOPcolyps Now) where better than the previous two (Death and Glory & Eyecons)?

apopcalypse now was brilliant as it was a proper installation and massive show...i never went to eyecons but went to death and glory and that was good but in a different way as it was all new.
It will change again when the L.A one comes around, IMO he has done very well in 3 years - flying around the world sometimes for just a few days to do some paste ups or pieces on walls. You cant say the same about some other designs are artists who churn out prints and other guff

Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking D*, Think I just expected something different to what we got. I have no doubt that he will once again 'Knock our socks off', Just don't think this is the one. I'd rather not see anything for 2 years to be blown away at the end of it. Maybe I'm completely wrong and I'm just maturing much quicker than D*'s work.

Pukka photos thanks.
I've never really been a D Face fan and do not own any of his work to date. This latest exhibition has stirred something inside me and I have this urge to buy something. I'm in the UK and obviously can't get to see this show in person but from what I have seen I would be sorely tempted to buy a piece. Yes it is different from his previous work and that is what I like (apart from the Jackson stuff). My personal favourites are the desk tops and the Riot stuff - are they on canvas?

the schools desks idea is great but something is lacking in the execution still think the poptart canvas is the best work he has ever produced

I applaud Wearology's efforts in retrospect - he's obviously stand up.
As for 'paying it forward' I hope he does get some reciprocity but don't think he'll get out nearly as much as he put in - PM to get some freebies and take your place on a hybrid roll call of genuine folk and disingenous sychophants.

I'm also very curious how this show has gone over and what's sold, or not... And I'm way too lazy to contact the gallery and find out first hand

From having seen the preview link before it was disabled, a few pieces had sold(the Marilyn one, Evils Pawn, Unamerican Graffiti, one copy of the spraycan statue).
