My first was Have A Nice Day, but if i was looking to pick up my first Banksy now i'd probably go for a trolleys unsigned, or the colour version if you've go the cash to splash... By far the best of the recent LA/Ghetto releases imo.
If you prefer the older style ones then money-no-object for me its a Happy Choppers, after that probably Laugh Now or WSM/BME.
Could hang on for the remaining LA ones to be released and TRY to get one from PoW..... I repeat, TRY....

;D Alright everybody. I want to buy more Art in 2008 Want to get a Banksy Print. If you was Buying your first now, which one would it be? Please advice ;D Cheers Love is in the Air, without a doubt. You can get some real classics for not much more than the more recent (and not nearly as good) prints. You can get an unsigned LIITA and Happy Choppers for less than the price of a signed Grannies. No contest really.

Depends on your budget and which image you like most I suppose!
If I was looking to buy now I'd go for either Love is in the air or a Bomb hugger. With BME or WSM after that.

I think it would have to be Girl with Balloon, by far I think the most classic image out there, it fits any room and everyone will love it and its a great conversation piece. Such a simple image yet it speaks volumes.
Speaking of, anyone out there have one they are willing to let go?

;D Is the bay the best place Thanks again Ebay is OK but don't forget there are often spares floating around on this forum where you could also do a part exchange on things too and then there's FPR's auctionsaboteur site aswell. Good luck and keep it under control and don't let yourself get sucked into the Banksy addiction!

My first Banksy was Toxic Mary, a greatly overlooked print IMHO
The problem with the request is not knowing the budget.
If less than £1k I would say snap up Napalm, it normally goes for more than this. Alternatively a placard rat or a B&W Trollies If up to £1.5k a Laugh Now, Pulp Fiction or Have a Nice Day Up to £2.5k Happy Choppers Over this Rude Copper or Kate
I have probably missed some corkers, but no one has endless free cash for such things ;D

Probably except the early banksy prints which themselves are so basic, there is no way they were done on photoshop. Most print designs would (if not all) been through photoshop to get them down to a basic level to print on a screen

it is a drawing in charcoal, its just its been through photoshop. This has been discussed at length like last week. Banksy does not draw his stuff, its commissioned so it is hand drawn and then screened. and the finish of it looks like charcoal as the screen is so good.

unfortunately thats the way it is nowdays. If your a designer, you do a design up to a standard. It gets approved by the client. You then employ a typographer, illustrator and photographer to bring it all together for you and do it properly and you just fit the pieces together.
Banksy will start with a sketch, pass it to an illustrator to draw it then pass it to POW to print it. Then he just signs it. Its what happens. Its still a banksy.
