That's one nice print, and a bargain too, maybe should have gone for one.

out of interest, how would you do a background like that? His website says 2-colour screenprint but I can't see how you'd get that affect from a single screen.

At a complete guess, instead of using a blade to pull the ink over the screen you would use something smaller like a spunge or something to smear the ink onto the paper, creating an uneven finish

The background is identical on all the prints, so it's designed like that not created by the handpulling process.
Its pretty easy to achieve, in this case not by halftone dots but by what looks more like a mezzotint effect, anyway the screen was made that way. Personally I particularly like the background.

your right CBL it is created by a mezzotint and i do personally like the ruggedness of the background but it just doesnt sit well with me because of the crispness of the gun. Not his best work but only MO!

The gun has some 'patchey' areas too, you can just about see some difference in my pic at the bottom of the handle and above the trigger. Also in my pic of the close up of the end of the barrel you can see the whiteish splats going from the background over onto the gun. Horses for courses whether it rocks your boat.

That's what I was saying, all down to taste, there's no right or wrong in art. Of course I'm happy with it and for £34.04 inc delivery I'm actually over the moon with it.

On another note is this the first Kinsey print that has a stamp on it? None of my other Kinsey prints have this on.

The 'Not a Gun' print is made to look 1920's ish, with the cream paper and it works really well. I love this print. On the new Kinsey/BlkMkt prints, does anyone know who the guy in the print is. And I don't mean Leon. Cheers.

You didn't like Leon. F**K that was a great film. Why on earth was it paedophilic? Did you find yourself fancying the little Natalie Portman?

Kinsey really chucks them out doesn't he. His input seems to have increased recently. Perhaps because he has been selling out faster. Only a couple of months ago there were maybe 8 or 9 different prints available to buy on this site. This print has sold out already which must be a record for Kinsey.
