What could POW do to make the Banksy NBG fair, by leeoman on Dec 15, 2009 17:31:36 GMT 1, Impossible! POW do not have cardholder information, they use a 3rd party company for processing payments. Also, there's no way to limit how many tickets people buy online. To be honest, I think this release was perfect. People wantint 1st come 1st served and people wanting lottery were ALL satisfied. Seems to me, as I say after EVERY Banksy release, POW can't win. Bottom line is that the moaners will always moan when they don't get a print. As I said abov, they are not interested in or able to recognize fairness - they just want to buy a print below market value. I would agree with that, pow are dammed whatever they do. I think this way was fair, in the shop and a lottery. As for flippers, never going to stop them. And no i didnt get one either. Life goes on, its not the end of the world.
I think your right about POW, they will never be able to please everyone no matter how hard they try. Not sure about the shop bit though, what will happen next time there is a release and they do the same? you will have people camping out for days and also look at the percentage on E-bay right now, that can only suggest a good percentage where flippers which i thought POW wanted to stop, don't know that for sure though they might not really give a crap and if so neither should we.
But your right life does go on and its most defiantly not the end of the world

What could POW do to make the Banksy NBG fair, by stenev on Dec 15, 2009 17:46:18 GMT 1, There will always be unhappy people and it does seem like POW have tried to make things fair with the fcfs and lottery. I'm only annoyed because I know I could have had one if I'd taken the risk but then I guess that is what makes it feel special to those who were successful.
In future I think 3 editions would be nice: A fcfs low edition from the store. An online lottery low edition and an open edition unsigned available for say a week.
All I want is a Banksy on my wall and although it would be lovely to have the exclusivity of a low ed, I would just be happy not having to buy a knock off print (which I have avoided so far)

I think you could limit the numbers bought online if you did it through paypal, anyway i was just posting my thoughts to the thread HC. I'm not moaning about it just giving my opinion to title of the Thread
My apologies if my post came across as accusatory Leeoman, it was not my intention to suggest you were one of the moaners. Just making general comments in reply to your post and the previous one about online ticket sales etc.

What could POW do to make the Banksy NBG fair, by rosstierney on Dec 15, 2009 18:05:13 GMT 1, there was nothing wrong with the methods of release but there is definitely room for a healthy discussion. pow should think before they speak/post info on their site. to the people saying the info was on their site days before, that maybe, but when pow clearly stated in the summer; "all future releases would be via lottery", it makes one think. also, that info was put up while pow staff were still saying they didn't know how it was going to be released & it wasn't until the 11th afternoon everything was confirmed. then there's the amount of notice issue, but at the same time, if any further notice was given, it would have been carnage. moving on, the green lottery. thousands of registrants vs. 250 prints = a lot of unhappiness. even more so when there's rumours of priority to overseas registrants. for the last few years, demand has outstripped supply, but i feel since his show, demand has increases significantly leading me to believe pow could up the edition sizes without affecting the desired strength of his market. they could even re-introduce unsigned editions now they've got the coa system. please don't take this post as a moan, i just find the whole process of discovering the perfect release intriguing, i always have. merry christmas everyone yes, you too pow
