STREET ART AUCTION SALE, by Prescription Art on Dec 17, 2008 1:02:15 GMT 1, Great results Jef. This was the most interesting Street Art auction i've seen for a while. Surprised the invader on rubik cubes didn't sell... that looked a bargain.
Speedy Graphito's work seems to go for incredible prices in France, but he's not too well known here. Would you say he originated that Dan Baldwin / Ben Frost style? I quite often like his stuff, but then see the prices!

STREET ART AUCTION SALE, by Jef Aerosol on Dec 17, 2008 1:22:34 GMT 1, Olivier (Speedy) has been a good friend of mine since we both started, in the early 80s and we now work with the same galleries (Art Partner in Paris and Brussels, Espace 120 in La Baule...) and we also both work with our good "friend/agent/dealer/partner/bro/public relation/pal/call him what you want" : Henri "Lezarts Urbains" Thuaud. Speedy was very successful in the 80s and went thru a somewhat "not as good" period in the 90s (many of us did, after the craze of the 80s and before the revival of the 00s), but he's doing extremely well now and his prices have increased a lot in the last two years. He's very talented and he totally deserves that success. He's now also working with Opera Galleries and he told me that he should have a solo show in London in a year time or so. So watch out and be ready to discover his mighty art live soon. About his style, he often switches from "period" to "period" and starts new series or experiments new things, keeping his personality and own style but trying new ways and exploring new paths all the time. His work is extremely rich and varied, always powerful and meaningful. We have great esteem and friendship towards each other and I think I'm biased ! But go visit his website and make you own opinion : speedygraphito.free.fr

STREET ART AUCTION SALE, by goffy on Dec 17, 2008 4:30:04 GMT 1, Hoops, I meant anyone who bought his work would not be disappointed. Although I did slag off his painting of his boots but then I saw it at BRP and I admit I changed my opinion. It was simple but effective.

STREET ART AUCTION SALE, by artatl on Dec 2, 2011 20:17:56 GMT 1, I'm selling my most prized possession, an original Jef Aerosol painting I won in a charity auction in Atlanta, GA called The Grind. The Grind (2007 and Grind 2.0 2008) shows featured a ton of top underground artists (Shep Fairey , Faile, D*Face, Mike Giant, etc.) and was featured on many news sources. The piece is painted (stencils and spraycans) on the topside of a quality blank canadian maple skateboard deck. It measures approximately 30" x 7.5".
The perspective is amazing. It features awesome detail, texture and technical work that you just can get from a print. This is by far the most unique Jef Aerosol piece I've ever seen. Jef signed the front. Can provide provenance. It has two small framing eye bolts screwed into the back with framing wire for easy hanging.
I am a huge Jef Aerosol fan and this is my only OG but the economy has been hard on my personal situation and it pains me to sell this piece.
