To be fair though, how many pieces last 25 yrs? They come and go. I think Robbo will be pleased it lasted for so long. I did wonder why Banksy had done something so hidden (not normally his style). So maybe it was on purpose.

It's sad how a lot of these writers like to hate Banksy for being different but at the same time feel like he owes them something - they are clearly jealous of his success. I have no doubt that Banksy would be doing his thing now had Robbo never existed...Blek might be able to say that - but not Robbo.

Regardless of the condition of the Robbo, it should have been left alone. Someone who's been around as long as Banksy should know the drill by now. Even more so a street artist going over a writer. There way to do it and thats provide a link or provide credits AND a link, not present it like its your own s**t. People share enough on here for free without s**t having to be stolen and presented un-credited,. Behaviour like two folks in this thread have shown has driven very accomplished, passionate and zealous documenters away from this forum before. Not to mention its against the board rules and can lead to a forum being shut down. Time to get honest.

I did have an initial thought but didn't voice it... Mr B has done over someone else's work and thats a bit s**t? By the way people react to MBW work and Cartrain for that..hate going anywhere near Mr B's work, then he overworks an old but seems well respected piece, how ever old, I'm not sure if he done this with respect after reading Robbo slapped him? Maybe a nod or maybe a slap reversal...who knows :-)

If this Robbo slapped me about respect and I went on to completely make a mockery of his own self importance as Banksy has, I would do exactly the same thing. Degrading the poor sod (who clearly had tickets on his greatness) to be forever a piece of the guy you slapped's legacy! classic response.

MB I agree, but if you were, and I'm not an member of the old graf scene, if you did this piece of artwork which has lasted for over 25 years, by someone that was an original graf writer back in the 80's, and Mr B buffed it, not annoy you?

The reasoning over going over someone is you take issue with them, if Robbo smacked me round the face, I'd have issue with him. Also he has remained semi respectful, the piece had long since been ruined by the pink throw up.

Ok, take the slap out of the scene! Now back to art, what would you think of someone buffing your art to make there own, ok it was tagged but to be buffed by another artist? Like MBW did to Mr B and there was up roar! Not sure myself!, Mammal where are you! with a response :-)!!

I don't know enough, but have followed the early days of Banksy to know he knows the importance of proper old school graf and respect it? Just surprised me! Thats all..
