i'm assuming this new piece is on site... if so, i can't see how you'd get a look in without a ticket. I live 20 mins or so from Pilton and drove through there several times last week. Security have been on all the main access points for over a week and from today, the old bill will be blocking all the small back roads aropund the site. If I was you CBL and i didn't have a ticket, i wouldn't bother! It's in Glastonbury Town NOT the Festival. From what I can gather it's a stones throw from the Rifes pub. On the main road to Shepton. I may be wrong but will have a look on me way to work. DD ahhh, i see... in that case, pub crawl anyone?

This is simply Banksy standing up for the rights of the festival going community. For years the police have been given special licenses to search people contrary to normal rules that request an element of suspicion. At Glastonbury in particular they get to set up road blocks on the motorway and siphon traffic in to side lanes and then use the threat of dogs and strip vans to find a bag of weed and secure our DNA forever. Once at the green gathering everyone was so incensed at the police bullying at the entrance that hundreds of people acted a naked protest and went and frisked the coppers back. The truth is that if the police used their bully boy tactics at the proms they would no doubt find allot of cocaine and if they looked harder they would find shed loads of white collar crime in the form of insider dealing and tax fraud to name but a few. Banksy here is showing his root's and standing up for a community that has always been victimised..... This is so f**king refreshing to see the man is back ! warning.......if you own a camper van and are travelling on the a303 at glastonbury time the police will always stop you at chicklade.

I looked all over for a tag but couldn't find one.
But it's got Banksy written all over it, I'd be very very surprised if it wasn't a genuine Banksy.

It definitely was fresh, pink spray paint on the tips of the grass and weeds, it's in a very obvious location on the main A361 road to Shepton Mallet between The Riflemans pub and the Chalice Well. If you want to find it on a map use multimap and the postcode BA6 D .

If my memery serves me correctly he says he no longer uses it unless he feels it can add something to the piece.

I reckon this won't last very long - it's bad publicity for the police and micheal eavis

Nice work fella.
Didn't get chance to get a glimpse myself as Work are determined to run me ragged as I have a few days off for the festival.
However, the missus went over there this morning to get some pics and was told by the local postie "the blokes that did that go in the Rifes every night".

Also a nice old lady from Bristol (over 60 she said but didn't look it!) was really interested in it and got her camera out, in fact I gave her this web site address so I wouldn't be surprised if she joins this forum!

DD Banksy & his mates drink in The Riflemans? I had a couple of dodgy dealings in that pub (or at least the car park) when I was younger, has it's reputation improved?

She got nabbed for wearing a backpack. For a while in my area in the US, you weren't allowed to use backpacks in school at all. You had to put all your books in your locker and carry 1 at a time.
Great image.
Thanks for sharing it.
