what do you guys think of dolk prehaps making it big, i think he's got some really good ideas, dare i say it - better than banksy's at the moment - take no notice of the star wars print!

I really think DOLK has the right sort of images in his locker to appeal the Banksy followers that can no longer afford his work. What we have seen from DOLK is just the start of what he has to offer ;D

kinda interesting how all the images are 2003/2005, maybe theres a backlog and there'll be loads of dolk prints

I think Dolk has either reworked an old banksy idea or blatantly ripped it off on most of his stuff. His stuff is pretty good don't get me wrong but i've seen a enough ches and star wars stencils to last me a liftime.

i love his stuff but the two prints on his site seem to be old as they are dated 2003 and the canvasses are 2005. Lets see the new stuff

Would like a print or canvas of girl with teddybear, i think its stunning. very jealous of the Forum members who got one of those.

Minor panic when I got in to find a 2 hours old email telling me HMP was up and running. Fully expected the scalpers to have cleaned everything out. No hesitation in buying the Officer Down print, but would love to have had a spare 1600 for the police line, however.

Dolk's stencil style, although similar to Banksy's in many respects, is really distinctive. I'm a big fan!

I totally agree that he has some awesome images in the locker and there's going to be some stunning prints to come.

It's been mentioned before, but my only real criticism of Dolk's work is the way he places his tag and other lettering. I bought the Officer Down image today, which I think is great. Though, I have to admit I would like it even more without the text in the image. I find that the text unnecessarily draws your eye. To title the image "Officer down" would have been sufficient for me. Similarly, the Girl With Teddy Bear canvas is absolutely stunning, but would have been even better IMO if the Dolk tag was placed more discreetly.

To re-iterate whats already been said, Dolk has a fat stash of great images in his pocket so we can expect a lot of great things to come from him in the future. He is second only to Banksy and that says a lot.

I think the officer down image is great! The crime scene canvas is on point, I just wish I could afford it. One of his best images IMO.

I agree jjoschi44 -- the only criticism (and it's very small) is that Dolk doesn;t need to use the lettering/words in his pieces -- I am your father would be even better IMO without the text as with officer down. But forget all that -- he is an absolute champion. Can't beat him right, AB?!!

Hi, does anyone know if we will be stung with import duties or VAT on his posters with Norway not being a member of the EU?

Personally, I don't mind the lettering/words... but when I think about it, with officer down, without the words it'll just be 3 police blokes staring down at a dead red pig. It would be a bit hard to get, no? Without the words, people can interpret it as "Barbeque time", or "Luau time", or something :p

When you look at Dolk's work in terms of street art though, it's really hard not to compare him to Banksy. This guy is just right on the money... his execution is so sharp and crisp... and his concepts are just witty as hell, yet original (most of the time) and distinctively different from Banksy. This man is my gawd!!!!

I'm a big fan too and completely agree with most of what you've said. Though will stick with my comments re Dolk's placement of tags and lettering. Visually the placement of the lettering is just too intrusive for me and in many cases simply unnecessary.

In terms of risk of confusion, I like having to ponder what the narrative or message of a piece is. Plus you can title the image on the website, no need to include it on the print.

didn't get stung for any import duty when I bought my canvas
