I am looking for some J.Parla works on paper or canvas or any medium at that, either prints or og's and was wondering what price range should I be hoping to expect? Also any news regarding upcoming shows or releases? thanks

Once that's gone you may well struggle to find one. It's also a particularly nice one.

Very few prints Pirate Alphabet 2 (edition of 20) and only one other I think (which isnt representative of his style).

His style really doesn't work as well in prints

winter - out of curiosity, how many of the above Parla prints have you seen in person?

Even taking my bias away (I'm considering selling one) - I strongly disagree they don't work at prints. Additionally, finding available work by Jose Parla borders on impossible and even if you do locate an original - 99% of the people on this forum can't afford them so prints or water colours are a nice alternative.

I agree with winter. The main part of the Parla pieces is the layered effects, the graininess of each stroke or the pigments all mixed together in beauty in a watercolor. These effects fail to show up in print runs I feel, they almost look like marker tagged calligraphy, the calligraphy looks great as always with Parla, but it is not necessarily the selling point to me. I think he would be better off releasing signed lithographs of his watercolors personally

Not a hater, all the luck to your sale artlover, to print collectors there are very few Parla prints in circulation when you think in comparison to his audience

Skelly - thanks for the response. It's rare for civil/constructive criticism discussion on this forum lately.

I will admit I find the Memory Document print to be extremely plain. Different strokes for different folks I guess though. It's good we all don't like the same stuff - otherwise this hobby/lifestyle/obsession would be much more expensive!

HI, a Jose 6 x 6 will cost anywhere between US$90,000 - US$100,000 (primary) and before discounts.
