POW - NEW Print Release, by twist65 on Nov 3, 2009 15:05:21 GMT 1, I've always really liked those Xenz special branch prints but too big for the space I have left so can't pull the trigger anyway. But 9 prints available from edition of 14 - weren't they were previously sold out?? Plus 15 from the other editions available... Something doesn't quite add up to me...

Does seem a bit odd. Anybody got any idea what's going on? Is this a new edition - a previous edition of 8 was in red (not red and gold).
Regardless though, I do like these prints!

POW - NEW Print Release, by jimbo73 on Nov 3, 2009 18:14:20 GMT 1, Times are hard - maybe they are cashing in some of the retirement assets early? (well the stuff that's not by Banksy and is unlikely to appreciate).

Or maybe they found a bunch of stuff after the recent move???

POW - NEW Print Release, by twist65 on Nov 3, 2009 18:48:27 GMT 1, stretching it to say they miraculously found a big pile when moving, and surely they must have a record of how many had been sold previously/if any were unallocated..? i just thought when an edition was 'sold out' it didn't mean 'sold out apart from the ones we're sitting on, either to make the edition appear sold out or to flog at a later date'

Or maybe they (POW) just like to keep the print production line rolling by drip feeding us the odd tasty morsel every now and again. Keeps us 'the punters' keen and wanting us to come back for more.

POW - NEW Print Release, by Happy Shopper on Nov 3, 2009 21:53:17 GMT 1, I'd assume they may have been keeping prints back to sell in the shop... something to sell once the shop opened. Maybe it's not been so busy, so they're selling them online!?
I think it's quite common to hold a few back from each print run... for special occasions, shows and stuff.

Have gone well past the keen stage. Have even added the POW news releases to my spam list as there has been so very little to tempt for so long now.
It's a shame as I miss those butterflies that came in anticipation of a release although I do not miss the gut wrenches of having missed yet another (which was the most probable outcome).

the conspiracies are just ;D great - here's a simpler one for you
The Xenz prints were co-produced with the now closed Forster Gallery - who was representing Xenz - the Balwin Prints Forster made turned up on eyestorm (Autumn Girl)
hypertheticaly - if they had a stock of the POW Xenz where do you recon they'd end up?
they are beautiful prints btw.

POW - NEW Print Release, by twist65 on Nov 4, 2009 14:28:57 GMT 1, for me its really just an issue of whether a print edition is actually sold out, or a percentage which have been allocated for sale have all gone. ie - if I couldn't live without a Special Branch on silver, and had bought one secondary market for an inflated price having thought they were all sold out from POW, I would be pretty annoyed if 7 suddenly reappeared online at the original price! But if another gallery had half of the prints and ended up returning them to POW then i don't suppose there's much that could be done about it...
