Big interview with D HIrst in today's guardian. Spoke abouit his career to date and future plans to exhibit 300-400 pieces of art he owns by other artists - he name dropped quite a few names, but not one mention on Banksy I'm afriad to report.
And no mention of the Serpentine gig either, althouhg with it being 6months away i'd expect something nearer the time.

Serpintine Gallery is not big enough to house 300/400 pieces unless they are really really tiny :-)

my old boss is launching a show this Friday called 'Hirst and His Contemporaries' which includes quite a bit of Banksy originals and prints. He's not gone public with it yet although I think the press are covering it today or tomorrow.

This the one Angel? Telegraph 7th Nov: The first exhibition of works by the notorious graffiti artist Banksy since his record-breaking auction sales last month opens at the Andipa Gallery in Knightsbridge on Friday. None of the works, though, has come directly from the artist: gallery owner Acoris Andipa had to buy directly from collectors. For the show, which also features Banksy's friend Damien Hirst, Andipa has assembled eight works from editioned screenprints (priced at £5,500 each) to original spray paintings on canvas (£45,000 each). All come with an affidavit. "With Banksy stencilling kits on eBay for £20, you can't be too careful," says Andipa. Edit - details from www.andipamodern.comHirst and his Contemporaries An exhibition of original works and graphics by Damien Hirst and fellow artists such as Banksy to coincide with the Serpentine Gallery exhibition, the Murderme Collection. 10 November - 2 December 2006

Thanks Trowel ;D Looks like most of the pieces on display at that Andipa Gallery are just prints then I think if two or three members of this forum got together they could easily put on a better show ;D

Love this quote by Damien Hirst in the Guardian interview,
"But what are pictures anyway? They're just things that brighten the f**king room up at the end of the day, aren't they?"
Infact I've chosen it for my signature

The Hirst show was mentioned on the BBC Ten o'clock news tonight. There was an interview with Hirst with some good shots of Banksy's Naplam and the Grim reaper on Horse Back. I was also shown an advance copy of the shows catelogue today. It has a grim reaper imagine ( different to the one we all know ) on the cover and various Banksy's inside including a Lenin on a traingular road sign. I'll be getting one when I visit on saturday.

Anybody else make it down there? There is a limited edition print box ( 29 of them )with work of most of the artists on show including Banksy ( 'Cann't beat the feeling'.. the one we all call Naplam )It is as I've said 1/29 and smaller in size then the POW version with a bit of colour splashed on it. There is also a Damien Hirst in the box. £18,800 if anyone's got the cash. Another thing...those of you who have been, I wonder how long it is before Mr Hirst is wondering where his Banksy 'Lenin road sign' is. If it was mine I wouldn't put it right by the entrance.
