BlackRatPress "WHITE NOISE" - 29th Nov, by remirough on Nov 29, 2008 9:39:19 GMT 1, The show was wicked... subtle lighting made it really Christmassy I thought, Mike really knows how to put a good show on... the only piece I thought was a bit meh, was Nick Walkers... Was good to see Cept and Kid Acne tho, hadn't seen those buggers in ages... we set the world to rights last night... If only I could remember how?

BlackRatPress "WHITE NOISE" - 29th Nov, by remirough on Nov 29, 2008 9:57:36 GMT 1, I'd be interested to know who the Elbow Toe portraits were of if anyone knows? I know this one is Elbow-Toe himself This is Cake (whose work was in my show last month) This one is Luna (flickr photographer) Photos: www.flickr.com/photos/edbartlett/I'd imagine on that basis that all the other portraits were of people in the New York street art scene, but i'm none the wiser as to who they are. The last one is Luna Park, who I'm sure you're a flickr friend of James. If not you should be. She has been documenting the street art scene for several years in NYC. and has a formidable portfolio.
Absolute rubbish Rom! Everyone can see thats Vincent Price!

BlackRatPress "WHITE NOISE" - 29th Nov, by Existencil on Nov 29, 2008 10:40:21 GMT 1, That's where it was when I left. Cyclops sold one of the Amy's and about 10 prints. The Blek Le Rat was unsold (ยฃ20,000) along with the Matt Small's. Elbow Toe sold everything and they were getting the majority of the attention.

BlackRatPress "WHITE NOISE" - 29th Nov, by digitalkid on Nov 29, 2008 11:26:59 GMT 1, I loved the NW and at ยฃ12K I thought it was not a bad price for whoever bought it. I also thought Amy 1 was great but Amy2+3 not as good IMO. The rest was very interesting but not up my street, still it was good early eve out.. Cheers BRP

Loved the Elbow Toe, Matt Small (quality as per usual) and Cyclops. Some more photos up here and pics of the prints on offerโฆ s287.photobucket.com/albums/ll147/jusdeep/White%20Noise%2008%20BRP/

BlackRatPress "WHITE NOISE" - 29th Nov, by Sundowner on Nov 29, 2008 12:49:08 GMT 1, Went with the missus and some friends last night. Personally I thought the Blek canvas and Walker was the weakest in the show (and I am a big Blek fan). The more I see the DFace "Pop" work, the more I love it and that Batman looks fantastic in that environment. Loved the Asha Zero and Elbow Toe stuff - definitely ones to watch!

BlackRatPress "WHITE NOISE" - 29th Nov, by cashman on Nov 29, 2008 14:02:36 GMT 1, I while back I bought a canvas of Bleks and to see the direction his work is going is just so dissapointing. It makes me question why I bought his work in the first place. The Jonathan Levine work was soooo poor, I mean a Shell tanker? Then a very poor Obama canvas with no substance it seems as if he's just following crowd?!? It's as if he has no artistic flair in the slightest and just tries to keep up with the scene by copying others. Ohh well. I guess Picasso went through patches where his work dipped in form. Yeah, I compared Blek to Picasso. I couldn't disagree more... I think they way he's simplified his stencil work, whereas everyone else is going the complex route... it's as if he's turning them into stamps... and I've seen a lot of negative posts towards his Obama stencil, but quite frnakly the expression on Obama's face in that piece speaks volumes compared to Shep Fairey's sub par one imho... Blek knows what he's doing so much more than most "Street Art" muppets... But I guess you can't please all the punters all the time.
Take your guide dog next time you go...I love Blek, but if his current work was done by a nobody we'd all be giving them stick for being crap and having no imagination

BlackRatPress "WHITE NOISE" - 29th Nov, by Prescription Art on Nov 29, 2008 14:23:37 GMT 1, Blek - for whoever's interested!
I hadn't noticed before, but the woman's right leg is an absolute photoshop disaster!!
I think this site (http://photoshopdisasters.blogspot.com/) would label it 'baroque anatomy'. How is her thigh connected to the rest of her body?

BlackRatPress "WHITE NOISE" - 29th Nov, by slowmo on Nov 29, 2008 15:06:50 GMT 1, I'll get the Blek beat out the way first. There wee ripples all over this, it looked large for large sake and the crowning glory was the visible markings on the paint left from spray mounting the stencils. On closer inspection there were long hairs stuck in the paint. ยฃ20K was ridiculous.
Otherwise, what a great show, I really like BRP shows, they light the work so well. My favourite piece was the Elbow toe Victor Victorius, but I thought everything bar the Blek was first rate.

BlackRatPress "WHITE NOISE" - 29th Nov, by Simococo on Nov 29, 2008 16:03:10 GMT 1, just got back from the show. Elbow toe's work and matt smalls were pretty cool but the rest felt empty, and the great venue and lighting would make my art look good
