Oliver Winconek, new work - No escape, by crazyarsemother on Sept 3, 2008 9:50:58 GMT 1, Did she used to be in Milli Vanilli? Thats uncanny. Sorry showing my age. I'll tell her you said that.....
Ha ha, its only in your piece Oliver. How can you turn something so beautiful into......... only joking. She er..... seems very nice. Her Grandma's story is fascinating. You can tell her that if you like.

Oliver Winconek, new work - No escape, by Oliver Winconek on Sept 3, 2008 9:56:02 GMT 1, Love the piece Oliver, very nice indeed!, also the frame really compliments it, enhances it! Where did you get that frame from, saw some ones like that which the Prefab guys have used forgot to ask them where they got them! cheers
Hi Dan, cheers for that. I picked the frame up ages ago, it was a mirror to be honest and I just replaced the glass. I meant to ask the guys from prefab where they got theirs as well!

Ha ha the painting looks better in the flesh, or at least I think it does! I've not read the Grandma's story yet, I will have to have look now

Oliver Winconek, new work - No escape, by jusdeep on Sept 3, 2008 11:25:35 GMT 1, Really nice Oliver. Probably my favourite piece by you so far. Not too keen on the pink used but I like the idea of using the pattern and spray on glass.

Thanks for that, I'm not too sure about the pink myself, without it it looked too plain, needed something so I guess in a way it's better off for it

Oliver Winconek, new work - No escape, by giiiant on Sept 3, 2008 16:55:37 GMT 1, its got some nice elements (glass crack looks decent, pattern breaking through the jeans is cool) but the face needs a bit more detail and some of the shades used are just ugly and distracting (particularly the darker hand/top of the forehead)
just a few tweaks away from being excellent in my opinion, props on asking for criticism rather than going ahead and selling it for ยฃ500 edition of 10 without even trying to improve as an artist

Thanks, sadly due to my inability with cameras the photo doesn't really do it justice, the shades of green haven't exactly come out in the photo as I wanted (It was a nightmare taking a photo due to the reflectiveness of the glass. The face does have more detail but it is hard to make out from the photo.
I am always keen to push myself and move on to the next thing, this is why 95% of the work I do are unique, one offs. I don't really feel comfortable producing big runs of the same thing, I just feel in a way it cheats the public a bit.
