Steven ‘Pez’ Perry is arguably the most prolific contemporary club/urban artists of recent times. He is renowned for his vivid surreal illustrations which have adorned club and event flyers.
Starting as a graffiti artist in the mid 1980's, he later progressed to the airbrush. This is, in his words, "a finer version of the spray can". With the explosion of house music in '88-'89 he found himself swept up into the infancy of dance music culture - which had little imagery of its own other than the smiley face. Using flyers as his canvas & gallery he has exhibited his art to an enormous audience in the UK and around the world, sharing his edgy dreamlike imagery with the like-minded and communicating a universal feeling without words.
He has a unique style, ‘Pezism’, which has become synonymous with urban Britain and dance music culture worldwide.
Pez has just sent us this painting on a reclaimed wooden panel, 'Angels and Demons Pt 1'. We are thinking about publishing a version as an etching and would be interested to hear what forum members think.

Personally I think it is a bit too clean cut and doesn't really show a distinctive style, the website pictures are very 90's - they remind me of gamesmaster
Not keen, sorry
The website pictures would be very '90s. He was one of the first artists working in the rave scene and, as you can see from his biog, developed the style in '88. This guy was a leader, not a follower. Props to Pez!

I withdraw my first comments, I didn't realise who he was - he is a legend in rave flyers, awesome, thankyou for that link, I remember all of those! I can't believe I didn't recognise him from the start and feel stupid.
Honestly, i'm not sure he fits in this market, maybe some other people can comment, but thankyou again for the trip down memory lane.
Had loads of those flyers, loads! Went travelling, came home and my mum (this was ages ago, now married with a kid) had thrown them all away, still havent quite forgiven her. Years of service around Unity, Black Market etc.
Damn straight! What a dose of nostalgia! Thank you for the link. Those posters for sale are images I remember buying back in '92 (from Black Market I think) and was at a lot of those events too for a few years.
