I've recently noticed the big advertisement for Photobucket on this forum, consisting of a running stream of photographs near the top of the Home Page and the 'Last 100 Posts'.
Can the Photobucket ad be removed, or do individual forum members have an option to hide the ad? It is highly distracting and annoying.
We already have the ads for galleries and other forums at the top and bottom of each page. Along with all the Google ads on each page and next to every YouTube video, this seems to be a case of overkill. Then there are the eBay ads, which are intrusive enough as it is. I would have hoped that they alone would largely cover any costs of running Banksy.info.
Trying to make even more money from this forum smacks of opportunism and greed. Query whether this is truly in line with the whole ethos behind street art.

People are taking the piss out of you everyday. They butt into your life, take a cheap shot at you and then disappear. They leer at you from tall buildings and make you feel small. They make flippant comments from buses that imply you're not sexy enough and that all the fun is happening somewhere else. They are on TV making your girlfriend feel inadequate. They have access to the most sophisticated technology the world has ever seen and they bully you with it. They are The Advertisers and they are laughing at you. You, however, are forbidden to touch them. Trademarks, intellectual property rights and copyright law mean advertisers can say what they like wherever they like with total impunity. f**k that. Any advert in a public space that gives you no choice whether you see it or not is yours. It's yours to take, re-arrange and re-use. You can do whatever you like with it. Asking for permission is like asking to keep a rock someone just threw at your head. You owe the companies nothing. Less than nothing, you especially don't owe them any courtesy. They owe you. They have re-arranged the world to put themselves in front of you. They never asked for your permission, don't even start asking for theirs.

To be honest Ruat it appears you owe silky an appolgy, he has kindly put up photos of cans that are easily accessible for the majority of us that didnt get to go! its touches like that which make this forum (and Silky) quality! and not just another proboard! And as for the adverts as pezlow says sure they are intrusive and a complete pain in the arse but they are hear to stay (unless someone donates a rather substantial sum) and they are everywhere else as well. But I can assure you, this forum, (and the others) wouldn't be hear without them! Ignore them if they bother you, I actually find them quite useful. After all, it could be worse, they could be advertising viagra and dieting pills like many other sites.

More adverts please. (Especially ones for books)
Though that photobucket thing does kind of make me feel like throwing up.

Come on, who cares about a few adverts! So Silky might be makeing a few quid of them, fair play to him! He did'nt have to set this site up! Im sure it's very time consuming also.

As the photos from members go into the pool, they appear up top in the slideshow, that way there will be endless photos and not just a stream of the same photos endlessly, if you see what i mean ;D

nice idea, but doesn't that make parts of the board redundant? there are plenty of spaces to display members artwork and pictures from the streets, where we can comment as well.

that doesnt have to change but diversity in that photobucket thing at the top of the page has to be the key, in fact by doing that (a forum pool) it might raise more comment and interest than just those photos that make it onto the forum itself.

IMO it would be a waste of time, there would be a flurry of pics to start with (maybe) then it would probably slow right down. If you cant be arsed posting in the forum on the correct section in the first place, why would you head off to another site to do it??
Dont get me wrong, i'm not knocking the idea, i just think there's a bit of over excitement about it and what people expect it to deliver.
Best thing you could do is ask romanywg if the board could link to his photobucket, at least you'd get consistently new and quality images from all over.

Whilst it might be well intentioned - it slows down the site and clutters the page. I don't think clutter is something which is to welcomed on a site of any nature. "Cans" pictures an a scrolly window are fine - perhaps on the front page that's all - but not alas everywhere. take this as constructive criticism nothing more nothing less. btw addblocker took care of it anyway hand

I do like the idea, but i have found on slower computers it slows down the site a lot! Maybe just on the home or selected pages would be better?
