Invader - Camo Series, by Tommy Tucker on Sept 11, 2023 15:42:39 GMT 1, Looks like Invader has a new series of works coming out. Not Alias, not Rubik's. These will be unique originals not based on any works he has put on walls around the world.
They look great.
The only one that was sold before the upcoming show with OTI in LA was one he produced for Pharrell for his inaurgual Joopiter auction.

Alert prints, the whole Heni series, Hollyweed, Versailles, Explosion...
RVE and Sunset are nice from the most recent releases imo. Classic and iconic!
These camo peices are okay although really annoying that the invader isn't postioned centrally :S

Invader - Camo Series, by Tommy Tucker on Sept 11, 2023 17:36:29 GMT 1, For me it is nice to see a new series of original works. Always loved the Alias works and the use of the tiles so was a great step in the next direction.
Not sure how many there will be in the show but don't think we will have to wait long to find out.
In regards to the price, yes $60k seems like a lot but an Alias around a third the size would cost you $40k retail.

Invader - Camo Series, by Nate on Sept 11, 2023 19:40:41 GMT 1, OMG! Absolutely obsessed with these - it's totally giving me the Murakami vibe when put together like this (similar to what Murakami has done with his last Flower release in different colour variations). Love it! Don't love the price though... There is no way it has gone up like this since the last LA Kit release in 2018 from 2.400 euro. Unless, these are not editions, but all originals, of course?

Invader - Camo Series, by Winter on Sept 12, 2023 8:29:18 GMT 1, The Pharell one looked like a real one-off with the strange eyes. These look like a series where the designs are the same but the colour changes. This probably explains the price difference.

I can't see anything on the Idem website but maybe it's too early yet. It was in a story .. itโs still in a reel posted by Invader. A mix of all .. kinda the cover of the 4000 book but in larger. I did not found it very attractive anyway.. Each his taste .. too many colors, a bit โ messy โ ( maybe better in flesh )

Invader - Camo Series, by Lroy on Sept 12, 2023 10:11:12 GMT 1, These are all originals not kits Maybe they are originals and not kits, but they are not a unique work each time (apart from color and some little design variations), as they are part of a series.
Whether it's the final sale price at 137K or even the initial sale price at 60K, all of this seems horribly expensive to me for the average buyer...
We all know that it is the crisis (even in real estate, nothing is sold, nothing is bought) and, except for the very rich people, "invest" at this price, and at the time current in a work of street art seems to me unsuitable, even unreal. Look, even works (like the alias 3D, little big space ) purchased for 500 euros have difficulty selling on this forum or elsewhere (or around barely double that)...
In fact, if you are part of "collector-gallery-auction" circuit, you may be able to sell it at a better price, but if it is to sell it here or on ebay, "the old fashioned way", mano a mano and without agent, these works will remain on your hands. Even the Welcome mats don't find takers either. Even if for most artists, the dream is to appear among the authors of contemporary art (like Kaws, Murakami, Invader), I am not sure that the market will go in the direction of the average seller...
Art contemporary or classic is a whole different market, I think. But who knows, maybe I'am wrong... The case of Hirst ? ... Touching everything, left and right.. Where is Heni coming from too? and NFTs? Vast debate... It's not clear. This period is not clear for a lot of us...

obviously prices grow if the demand is high and the artist takes advantage of it and rides the wave.

I think that above all, we are paying the brand, Oti, Heni, then AvantArte (much democratics prices) etc... It depends of the hype and of the usual prices ( growing with sales and years, supply and demand as you said ). Oti and Japanese market, since the beginning have always hyped and high prices... Much more than the (alone) artist 's ones...
To finish, those Invader do not merit 60K at all.

Invader - Camo Series, by Rufin the Jungle on Sept 12, 2023 12:56:06 GMT 1, Whether Invader is more popular than Banksy, or that these are too expensive for the average buyer is really not a valid point imo. He released an edition of 5000 pieces at an affordable price for the average collector to buy. Can you flip them no! So it seems that the price point and edition size has ensured that these and possible further releases deter flippers from trying to profit from them. Is 60k too expensive for an editioned original, only people with that amount of disposable income will decide that. Must admit I do bloody like them though and we canโt deny his status in the urban art scene.

So these are positioned far more as editioned originals than prints.
Banksy made a bunch of canvas "editions" of 25 between 2003-05...I think those are decently above 60k each.

I did not like very much this 3 D piece so I did not bought it ( 500 โฌ anyway ). Itโs sure that you wonโt buy an artwork at 60 k to flip it. But anyway, each collector likes that the artwork will take value instead of loose some ( as the prints at this moment ). If you buy a Picasso (sigh) itโs not for selling it 2 years later even if we never know (and flippers are everywhere whatever the market) what could happen. Anyway we have to be in an art system that implicates several fortunate and intellectual persons in little committees.. I did not understood really your post, some here have the right to find a not unique artwork shown as a single one and to find it pricey, I guess.

Lroy when you mentioned that pieces like the Welcome Mats and Invaders Big Little Space sculpture were not selling on the secondary market, I was under the impression they were not selling as meaning the opportunity for flippers had been negated by the price and edition size. For me it now seems the big difficulty for any artist is to ensure that their art is bought for the art and not the potential upside on the flip. Maybe one day all the collectors with the expensive pieces will have to accept that art should be bought without any guarantee of potential profit. Sorry if I misunderstood your post.

Thank you for your answer ! I was ready to delete my answer to your post, as I did not understood it well, and above all, I did not understood myself : what I have said or wrote ( I still do not understand my point at the moment !). Iโm so confused. Sorry for that. Have a nice evening, and thank you !!
