Pejac • New Wave, by Masong on Dec 17, 2022 16:33:30 GMT 1, Always so much talk of dishonesty around lottery releases. It does seem to come across as sour grapes to people that don’t win. Of course you won’t win ever time you enter a lottery ffs. The reason they have lotteries for prints is because demand far outweighs supply. If you don’t like them don’t enter. I enter the Pejac lotteries because I actually like the postcard for the money. Can’t wait for all the moaning when the banksy lottery winners are chosen when your odds are around 20000-1 😆

Over the years, it has become apparent it might not be as fair to all that entered as it initially appeared.
No sour grapes here - I think the print is average anyway.

The post card is art too, for many, and may even be framed. Some try to keep up with the ongoing "set." Some postcards are hand finished, which may be just as special as a print if one doesn't get picked or doesn't want to spend big coins. Adds another element of optimism. For the price to play they also make great gifts too.
I'd like to believe the charity efforts are genuine. No art lottery is perceived as fair if it isn't transparently displayed but even then there will be those that try to poke holes or draw conspiracies. Some folks enjoy sours...

add on the fact its not a "home run" image and pretty steep incremental price increases upon every one of his releases.

Pejac • New Wave, by damenaz on Dec 17, 2022 18:32:22 GMT 1, The management who works with Pejac is simply genius, someone likes someone don’t. The prices for his works speak for themselves. Where did he start and what are the prices now, and this is the merit of both the artist and the management. Everyone complains about the lottery, but at the same time it is sold on the secondary market many times more than they paid for it. And free lotteries lead to the following results (The site received over 1 million requests (and 3,500 hostile attacks from Russian IP addresses), Legacy of War Foundation

Pejac • New Wave, by J0NNY on Dec 18, 2022 0:14:48 GMT 1, I don’t think all the whinging is justified when it’s a free lottery but I do believe things get a little more complicated when you have to pay for entry. Let be honest the postcard quality is usually terrible and barely worth the entry price, add shipping on top and it starts to look more like a scam. Then you get onto the lack of transparency about how many of the edition will be allocated, also when they preach about the postcards being for charity - whose pocket does the extra P&P line? I’m not saying that there is anything bad going on but I think that all the scepticism is justified.

They mask it as "charitable" then sneak in it's a 'portion of sales' that will be donated. Is that 90% or 10%? How much money are they making with the lottery alone?
How many of these will be available for the lottery? Those defending it being a fair and honest lottery are lovely people, we need more of you in this world and less pessimists. However, in this case, you are mistaken.

If you are trying to sell - there might be a buyer here as everyone keeps saying how much Pejac’s prices have exploded (after a few auctions at TateWard which have been placed by the artists management).
