Prints in Tubes, by Pipes on Oct 21, 2019 15:51:59 GMT 1, Ikea frames - depends on value of prints.
Framing can be quite expensive.
But ikea frames won’t have UV protection which over time will bleach the colour.

Prints in Tubes, by Happy Shopper on Oct 21, 2019 15:55:26 GMT 1, Do i have to flat them out first - or can i just frame them? And would it hurt them to just buy an ikea-like frame and put them in myself? Years ago I had an Eelus print in an ikea frame, and it came apart and fell off the wall! Not advised with anything valuable.

Maybe try habitat? They are forever doing sales with 20% off. I’ve got a large Obey offset print in one. (Frame 100 by 70cm) Does the job for a picture on a wall that my daughter enjoys and never broke the bank to buy and will never get sold. And the frames are of much better quality than IKEA

Prints in Tubes, by Dibbs 45 on Oct 21, 2019 18:34:14 GMT 1, Flat file is the way. You may get away with giclee prints in tubes for a while as these are digital representations. Screen print is a no no. Because the inks will gather. However you have to consider how tight the prints are packed.
The tighter the more you will need to flatten and danger of a perminent crease. The bigger the tube means a bigger roll which may help.
Flat file all the way. Selwyn sleeve are probably best.

Prints in Tubes, by Jaylove on Oct 22, 2019 19:46:46 GMT 1, What’s a good way to flatten prints. I have one that I’ve had a bunch of books on top of it for weeks and it is still curling. I need to massive slabs of concrete but obviously not practical. Wonder if I can sandwich it between 2 boards and put it between the box spring and mattress of my bed

Prints in Tubes, by tonys on Oct 23, 2019 12:07:07 GMT 1, It will depend on the paper, but I kept my BME in a tube for 12 years and it's perfect condition.
Paper memorises its shape over time, so flattening will be difficult.

I'd be worried the plastic fastener in the middle would push into the print sleeves.

Prints in Tubes, by ullke🍾 on Dec 17, 2019 1:29:09 GMT 1, Hi all.
I am looking for a tube in London and don't have much time. Anyone got one I could have? Can come pick it up. Large diameter needed, but just around 70 cm in length. I don't have much time, and all stores I've been to has failed me. Contact via DM.
Thanks.

Prints in Tubes, by Dive Jedi on Dec 17, 2019 11:28:23 GMT 1, Hi all. I am looking for a tube in London and don't have much time. Anyone got one I could have? Can come pick it up. Large diameter needed, but just around 70 cm in length. I don't have much time, and all stores I've been to has failed me. Contact via DM. Thanks. I send out a lot of tubes and I usually get them at a furniture store that sells carpet. Of course you can also get them at carpet stores. Usually 4 metres long, so bring a saw to cut it in half to fit in the car. Then cut the length you need at home.
I make the ends of strong cardboard. Draw the outline of the tube, and then cut a big circle around it. Then cut it from the edge to the outline every inch, so you can fold the edges around the tube. Tape it to the tube with wide plastic tape.
It's very strong, it's recycling and most important (for Dutch) ; it's free.
