BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by Happy Shopper on Jan 20, 2020 17:42:25 GMT 1, Amazing that when someone posts something on this forum initial outcry is always fake and a massive amount of skepticism. A real lack of faith in humanity that is probably justified but maybe we start off at the point where its likely something is real and go from there... The trouble with those drones is it seems the "shadow" across them is actually painted on... giving the illusion that photos are fake.
Nice to see these are actually reaching people's hands at last. It's odd we've not seen more, or had more news on a second wave of winners!

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by njbishop90 on Jan 20, 2020 17:43:29 GMT 1, Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Looking forward to seeing everyone else's pieces as they start to turn up!
I don't have any white gloves, but I can assure you that my hands were very thoroughly washed before unboxing. I'm also a little self-conscious about my thumb now too...
This is my first foray into art of this calibre, so if anyone has any recommendations about insurance/valuation, and any ideas on how to display them, I'd be very keen to hear them.
Thanks

These are probably worth quite a bit, and your insurance company might even refuse to insure your house contents at all (as these might to seen as a target for thieves).
Hiscox art insurance are good, and easy, although I've never had to make a claim.

I've seen Hiscox recommended a few times so will be getting in touch with them. Will I need to have it independently valued before contacting them? I've reached out to a few auction places for a free online appraisal, and the only one to respond so far have valued it at £100... 🤔

Worth checking the link below that goes to a different thread, halfway down is my question about insurance as I had exactly the same thoughts you did on owning a signed piece & am also very new to this high end of art so wasn’t sure of the protocol of appraisals/insurance etc. There’s some great responses & Hiscox seems the way to go...

Hiscox don't need any independent valuations up to an overall value of £250k but I think you need to name items over £30k (I cant be certain on the value but they did ask me if I had items that I considered to be above a certain value).
So you could have a collection of 25 x £10k prints and you don't need to name any of them specifically but if your collection was 5 x £50k prints you would need to name them all or something like that
I don't know if they look for independent valuations above £250k.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by tab1 on Jan 20, 2020 23:01:01 GMT 1, Hi all, new to this forum and just been approved. Not sure I've ever been called a "desperate attention seeking clown" or "Fame hungry whore with multiple accounts to blow smoke up their own arse" before, but there's a first time for everything I guess. Some people have speculated that I'll be selling these ASAP, but that is definitely not the case, my (now) wife and I went on one of our very first dates to the Banksy versus Bristol Museum exhibition back in 2009, so these already have a pretty sentimental meaning to us. Also, I'm not sure why people blur out the edition number, but just thought I'd follow suit. Nice to meet you all Probably just my OCD... But the white gloves would be on for handling those ? To find banksy fingerprints or DNA ?

considering that "they" have claimed no affiliation to banksy, #banksy sure gets thrown around a lot in their posts.
