Expo Chicago, by kwatis on Sept 19, 2019 22:34:06 GMT 1, Really pumped about EXPO this year. Anybody going this afternoon? Just finished up there. 4 solids hours. IMO best booth was Richard Heller Gallery. Tho I LOVED seeing Eric Yahnker's massive piece, "Faudtbreak" at The Hole. Seems like texture was a bif this year. Enjoyed the 4 plus hours but nothing made me go "wow" this year, compared to previous years. Still enjoyable. Will definitely return this weekend.

The Yahnker piece was an amazing statement piece, especially for a Chicagoan. The piece that made me go wow was from Brittney Leanne Williams.

Expo Chicago, by kwatis on Sept 20, 2019 12:03:32 GMT 1, The Observer yes, Brittneys work was fantastic. I missed her show at Monique Meloche Gallery earlier this year so was happy to be surprised seeing both her work and her yesterday. Another favorite was the two adhesive and atmosphere debris pieces by Matthew Brandt; incredible idea with a fantastic result. I loved finally getting to see Zaria Lynn's work in person; blown away by the scale and artistry of both medium and photorealism. I'm definitely heading back on Saturday or Sunday tho, so more to discuss then.
